So there's an event toward the beginning of my game that's taken me forever to get right, and it's nearing perfection. Your player character walks into a museum and is greeted by the curator, who suggests you take your time to look around. There's an object on the table the game encourages you to steal (the main character is a thief), and once you do so you're supposed to head down to the museum's reference room. Doing so while holding the stolen object plays a scene where the curator chases you into the room and demands you return it before attacking you:

This is the brief scene that plays after you defeat him:

But if you should happen to leave and then return, he jumps back
to where the event is set to start:

Is there any way to set it so he stays? (and he has to stay for plot reasons, he's still alive and important to the plot so he can't just vanish as if you killed him.)
