Is there anyway to Fade the map tiles to black without fading the player too?

Like the title says I'd really like to make a scene where a normal map has everything fade to black while having the player stay
fully opaque then I'd like to transfer a player to a new map and have the new tile set fade in from the black. Is there anyway to event something like this?

Use a picture with the silhouette of the player.
You can also, change the tileset with the event commands

What do you mean a silhouette of the player? I'd like the player to remain visible while their background fades to black.

Maybe.....Transfer the player to a new map that is completely blank. The background will be all black and you can still see the player. If you want to have a fading effect you can make a copy of the map you want to fade and go over all of the tiles on the copy with the shade tile and transfer to there first and then to the completely blank one. If you want more fading do multiple parallax backgrounds that have been darkened different amounts in Photoshop and transfer the player without fading the screen. (Or something like that) There is probably a better way or two to do it. I tend to take the long way around. Good Luck!

The Terrax Lighting plugin darkens the entire screen except for a circle of light around the player.

In case you're using static sprite characters and this is a cutscene (and you dont want to switch maps) can be achieved with fading to black, making char transparent and then show 2 pictures, lower (pic 1) is black background, upper is char sprite picture (transparent all but the char sprite so it shows above #1).

In case you want the darkness to be playable just create an empty map and warp to it, empty (checkered) tiles go black y default so you will have your sprite on a black background.

I see that's a pretty good idea also instead of trying to make a player shaped hole in a pic. Real quick anyone know the dimensions or like the x by x size I should make the picture so it fits the games screen perfectly?

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
