edit: Just realized that was for VX Ace, but I'd think that the license rules for MV are pretty similar.


Plus, as a general rule of thumb: if someone comes asking for any license keys, it's not a good idea to give it to them.

As far as I know that is NOT legal. Your MV key is for you and you alone. You might be able to install it on multiple computers, and I'm not even sure about that, but they'd have to be YOUR computers.

lets say a chase, steam currently has a feature borrowing games/apps from another steam acc who has license. (A)ive installed A on different comp that will be used by B.I logged to comp 1 with A accountand B logged to comp 2 with B account, but then B req permission to A using the software..its worked on CS GO , but i havent really know is it applied on software too.. so, is this able to works, and.. legal ??

No, you are not able to use Steam Family Sharing with any of the RPG maker engines. Steam doesn't allow it. I was locked out of my main Steam account once because dumb mobile authenticator and I lost my phone and Steam wouldn't let me use MV on my alt. Said I had to buy it even though I had sharing enabled between the accounts.

I will say that it shouldn't be a big deal to install the program on another computer in case of, say, you got a new computer or an old one broke or something like that. When I transferred to a new computer it was not a problem at all. Granted that was with the boxed copy. No idea how it works with Steam.

You just have to log into steam with the account that the license is registered under and it will allow you to redownload the program.

Only 1 computer? If I have more than 1 computer, clouding my project, I can't use it on other computer?

I think I sent in a support ticket once about this issue, but I can't remember what response I got. If I get the chance I will see if I can find the emails, but it was a long time ago.

There are previous discussions here that say it's generally acceptable to use the product key a couple of times, for example, say you got a new computer. The intent is still that it is for your personal use. And this person who approached is wrong in that you can use it as many times as you want.

We allow people to install it on multiple platforms for themselves, like on a laptop and PC - but it's only one license per person. Can't share or transfer them, so this person begging you for a key, is clearly asking for something illegal and you should tell him in no uncertain terms will you hand out your key, or even allow him to use your e-mail.
