I want to make a murder mystery game using RPG Maker VX ACE, and I was wondering if there was a way i could make a section like a find object section, i tried using artwork as a tileset but it came out a little weird and i was just looking to see if there was a better way.

Here is how i tried to do it but it came out a little awkward. I just used the hand as a character. Placeholder art, i am a much better artist.

I want to make it so the hand on click on objects and get clues, like if you click on the blanket it'll say something about it etc.

I've tried to do something similar myself (In mine, you would drag and drop items into place.), and it didn't go well, but I can try to help you.

Essentially, you want to create a new map, and make that image the background. There are several ways to do this, including parallax. At each spot where you have an object you want to describe, create an event. (For large areas, you can use multiple events, though there's more sophisticated ways to go about it.) In this event, type your descriptions. Turn on a self switch activating a second page with different words in case someone clicks on an event twice.

You're probably going to need a mouse script so people can activate events by clicking on them, and set it up to only work on this map. Such scripts usually allow for custom cursors as well.

It wasn't the best advice, but I hope it helps you get an idea of what you need. Hopefully someone with more experience comes by! :)

Please using meaningful titles for your threads. "Is this possible" tells us nothing. It would be much more clear if you put "hidden object game" into the thread title. Meaningful titles will attract the people to your thread who can actually help you, and will be useful to others down the track if they are looking for something similar (this request has been made in the past)

In addition to what has being said Shaz has a nice mouse script you can use for that. It allows you to show different pointer icon and names for events on mouse roll.
Everything else seems quite viable to me, the only thing you should be careful about is to create a way of activating events without having to actually move the player on them (if the hand is the player having to click and then wait for the hand to move makes things quite boring in my opinion). You can still move the player to that spot but you should do it in a much faster way (E.g.: use a parallel process to transfer player on an even whenever your mouse is on it).

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
