Hello,

I'm having some trouble

I'm setting variable 33 with this script:

$gameVariables.setValue(33, "Deliver \\C[1]\\v[12]\\fr to \\v[11] in \\v[10]");

Then calling it in a message window with \v[33].

What I am shown in the in-game message window is this:

Deliver \C[1]\v[12]\fr to \v[11] in \v[10]

I can't figure out why the displayed message is not doing what it should with \C and \v.

Note: I cannot just place "Deliver \C[1]\v[12]\fr to \v[11] in \v[10]" into the message window, the message window must call variable 33 to derive its text.

Any help much appreciated!

Tried to remove the double \\ ?

[EDITT]

My bad! There is a topic with this solution.

you have to use "\x1b\C[1]", "\x1b\v[22]"

Just put \x1b before the escape code.

@Eliaquim I don't think you need the 2nd slash though, just \x1bC[x] and \x1bV[x] but I can be wrong,
while the topic uses the name of \x1bN[1] =)

but still, I didn't know this was possible or why ppl use variable for dialog instead of text?

@ShadowDragon yes, of course! Don't need the double slash, that was before the edit.

Thank you both for your help!

Indeed, the correct script is as follows:

$gameVariables.setValue(33, "Deliver \x1bC[1]\x1bv[12]\x1bfr to \x1bv[11] in \x1bv[10]");

"\x1b" is to be used in place of either "\" or "\\"

Thank you so much!
