Ok, so I did this game back in MV which I move to MZ when I bought it. Everything has been working fine, aside from some small and unimportant hiccups (like the RTP being different and the sort).

Now it came time to deploy.

I tick the "Exclude unused files" and hit OK. (It doesn't matter if I choose Windows, Mac or Web browsers).

When I try to exclude the RTP the thing just gets stuck, it doesn't do anything.

When I do not tick the "Exclude unused files" RMMZ deploys the file as expected.

Has anyone that has move MV projects to MZ have this issue? Is this a common issue or something that just happened to me? Any way to solve this? I don't want to include files that I am not using since I have been deploying the project to the web (it's too big to do it now) and doing it manually is a pain each time I have to test on a browser.

If it is what I think it is, then it would be the same effect for both MV and MZ and has nothing to do with the transfer.

without exclude the engine simply gives a command to copy the entire folder, no matter what is inside.
with exclude it needs to copy the specific files it finds in the project. And that function has problems if some parts of either filenames or foldernames are breaking the networking rules required by HTML.

So I suggest checking all files in the project to see if any has spaces or non-latin letters. if yes, then you need both to rename them and re-assign them inside the project where their old names are still used.
this includes the foldernames for the target and source directories - for example
"c:\user\wrong name\rpg maker projects\game name\"
would be a folder sequence that breaks the rules due to the four spaces in the three directory names.

I like how in 2018 I was able to build a really good PC for less than 600 USD, with a 10 series GPU, which was the latest gen at the time. Now in 2023 for 650usd I can build something with a 20 series card, which is 4 years old and 2 gen behind now. Pc parts pricing is a complete mess nowadays.
