Hi mates, sorry to bug you, but I've gone through several tutorials on how to select a character and have it change the graphic to the selection and nothing I do to replicate this works. In depth description of what I'm trying to do:

1. Create a "blank" character to move around a character selection map. [No issues]

2. Set a dialog choice pertaining to each character. [No issues]

3. Allow a name change. [No issues]

4. Transfer the character to the first map [No issues]

5. Change the character to the main character at the starting map. [issue]

Tutorial used

What happens is it transfers the "blank" character instead of changing graphics to the chosen character. Any ideas as to what I've done wrong and what I can do to rectify this would be greatly appreciated.

In the event window, add actor/character to the party. that will add the character to the party so that the player can see it.

you're using the change actor grafic command in the wrong way - look at it:

Change Actor Graphic [Exias], 'Exias',0,'Exias',0You're telling the program to change the grafic of Actor "Exias" to the graphic "Exias" - or in other words, you're telling the program to change nothing. To use the "change actor grafic" command, you first need to select which actor to change in the top menu.

Then you need to click on the sprite pictures below that name and change those pictures to the ones you want to give the actor - those are usually the current ones displayed, the ones you want to change into something different...

By the way:

NEVER let an actor be without a name - there is one command in your screenshot where the actor is listed as [] because it has no name by default. Always set a default placeholder, even if you know that it will be changed - it will prevent a lot of mistakes...

That worked, thanks! I did the same edit to the class and it carried over, but for some reason the name does not. I also have to increase the items for the weapon and armor by adding it as the change equipment does nothing. Sorry to keep bothering you and thanks so much for the help!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
