So, I was thinking about adding a portable repair station in one of my projects. Upon use, this will trigger a common event that calls up the repair scene.

Considering how the repair scene takes gold, do you think it would be stupid if the portable repair station also took gold?

P.S. The repair station would be a crystal made by a fictional company called Pyrocorp. That's why it takes gold.

Design-wise, would it be an efficient way to have portable repairs? Yes. Logically, does it make sense? Unless you're repairing your equipment by melting the gold and using that to fill in holes, not really.

Would it be difficult to have a material system that repairs equipment with certain monster drops?

Think of it as a sophisticated form of vending machine.  Gold goes in, item for repair accepted, repaired item comes out.

Yes. That is what I'm going with.

When someone asks me "How does this work?" I'm going to tell them this.

For the portable station I would make it cost something rarer say like "diamonds" so that player have to limit the amount that they use the portable station. The repair shop should still cost gold that way people could still get their stuff repaired.

Sort of...

I'm using Selchar's Equipment Durability. I tried that idea, but I have no idea what to do. I have no programming experience whatsoever with Ruby.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
