Thank you for playing and I hope you enjoy It's Gonna Be A Long Night!

Premise:

It’s Going to Be A Long Night is a relatively short story-driven mystery/whodunnit RPG where you find yourself in the middle of a race to figure out who committed a murderer ten years ago. You must work with 5 other suspects knowing that one of them is a murderer to solve puzzles and uncover the story. What’s the catch? The character who turns out to be the murderer is randomized each time you play the game, meaning that every play though will be different.

Mechanics:

-Randomized Murderer
-12 planned endings
-5 different types of puzzles.
-If you leave two people in the Safe Room and one is the murderer, he will kill again, game over.
-Black humor.
-Character Customization.
-Pick your team carefully to avoid getting a game over.
-Game overs automatically save over the save file so you won’t be able to reload a save knowing who the killer is if you get a “Death Ending”
-Some dialogue varies depending on your class and gender.

Known Issues:

-Some slowdown in the “Green Room”
-Random bug where image doesn’t erase in transitions.
-Dog’s nose goes through wall.
-Tutorial Graphics are from a previous build.
-Light switch in Safe Room works sometimes and not during others.
-Intro Text off center.

-With 0.9, I got feedback after posting this topic from a friend who said there were glitches in some parts and he fell into an "Infinite void of sadness and black" after one part of the game. Currently looking into it.

Planned Changes for Final Version:

-While each of the puzzles in the demo are geared to one character, as you go through the floors, the puzzles become more complex and require multiple Character Abilities to complete.
-Dialogue changes depending on your character’s class and gender.
-Evidence changes depending on who the murderer is.
-Yes, you will be able to get an ending where you were the murderer, but it takes a lot of luck.
-Fight Zombies
-In the full game, a mechanic not implemented in the demo (because there’s no battles) is that if you leave two people behind in the room, but the “innocent” is higher level than the murderer, he’ll be safe, but if the murderer is the same or higher level, it’s game over.
-4 puzzle floors with a minimum of 5 puzzles each.
-Choose whether to kill your host or let him live when you win.
-Secret areas and “Glitch Scenes” (“Glitch Scenes” are not mandatory to finish the game, but are random occurrences in some rooms that expand on the life of your host).
-Unlockable and Hidden Characters.
-Sideview Battles with Custom Sprites for each character.

-Different way to select characters in the "Safe Room" to make it quicker and easier.

-More efficient way to activate skills.

Ideas for Final Version that May or May not be included in final game*:

-Weapon creation
-Character Abilities and puzzle for your character determined by class and gender.
-Multiple Save Slots (with autosave feature to keep the delete save mechanic functioning).
-More classes to choose from.
-ABS Battle System
-Custom sprites and graphics
-Basement Puzzles (Bonus Puzzles)
-New Game + content

*Ideas may or may not be used in final game.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy the game and even if you didn't, I'd like to know what you thought of it. Criticism is really appreciated since this is my first game, but please keep it civil. If you'd like to be a tester for future versions or help out, also feel free to visit the Project Recruitment page. Thank you again if you decide to try out the demo and I hope you find something to enjoy with the game.!

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
