Howdy, everyone! I'm Joshua, though most folks know me as J.C. You can call me either one, it won't bother me in the least!
This thread is where I put all of my free-to-use video game tracks. I'm not really a fan of modern gaming or soundtracks, so most of my work is in the style of the SNES and Playstation 1 era of gaming. It's what I love!

    Terms of Use:
All of my instrumentals on this thread are free to use in your commercial or non-commercial project(s). I only ask one thing, and that is to be credited as Joshua Curtis or J.C. Brickston. Either is fine!
Also, I do not allow for remixes, or my work to be built upon, unless written permission is given by me.
I do my best to make sure all the WAV files are loop-ready when I upload them, but you may set your own loop points if you'd like. Some of my older tunes might not loop as well as the ones I've made in more recent history (I was only a level one goblin back then!), so if you need to fine-tune the loop points, then feel free to have at it!

    Download Links:
My entire catalog of royalty free tunes are here on Bandcamp. Don't worry, it's all 100% free! I just love the setup of that site, as it is extremely easy to organize and upload to. Plus, it's cool for me to be able to look back at all the albums I've released. It's a mental bonus that keeps me going!

And that about sums it all up! Feel free to stop by and let me know what you think! Peace! And best wishes with the game making!

    How amazingly convenient...

I am working on a game for a 6-day jam that needed some music, and look what I find; all of the songs, ready to go! Lol. Really digging these tracks, especially Cajun Country, it will be a nice theme song for the farm! (Listening to Far & Beyond right now...)

    You're very welcome, StarkinGyra!

And PhilteredKhaos (Or I think that's what it is, backwards and upside-down haha) Thanks for the message and compliment! I hope they help with your game. A six day time limit is one heck of a deadline! I hope it all goes smoothly for you. It would probably take me about six years to make a game, and by the time it was done, there'd be one monster and maybe half an item in it O_O But you know what, I'd be very proud of that monster. Cheers!

    Thanks, everyone!

And I appreciate it, Amuseum. I'd have replied sooner but my thread got taken down over the weekend for some reason. It's back up now though. I'll have more tunes on the way soon.

For me, music is the most difficult free resource to find in the internet, so thank you for sharing this great work of art. And man, "A long way from home" is really really really beautiful. Only listening to that, I can think in a lot of stories to make in the RPG Maker. Thats the beauty of music, it inspire us. I once made a full game on VX, and the main idea came from a music I listened online. And you know what? I've used that music in the opening of my project. It was beautiful... Ah, the good times...

@lonewolf - Thank you so much! And I'm definitely planning on making more battle-themed music and a wide variety of other gaming tunes. I am working on another full album now, but the holidays and a recent EP I was working on for my toon rock band for Thanksgiving kept me occupied for a bit. However, come Monday, I am going to resume working on my next royalty free game album, and I'll be sure to put a few more battle tracks on there. Peace!

@SolonWise - Thank you so much for the message, my friend! That was truly nice to read. It's always refreshing when someone takes time out of their day to write a nice, personal message like that. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. And you're very welcome for the music. It's nice getting feedback on it. And music has always inspired me in the same way. The only reason I actually began experimenting with putting instrumentals together was so I could make fantasy-type music to put into animated films I was working on in the past. It eventually grew into a love of mine, and now I can't get enough joy out of making tunes. It brings me pleasure. But I think music inspires us all in so many different ways. That's what I love about it. Music works magic on everybody, and I think it's essential to life.

But thank you again for the awesome message! I hope your game creation goes smoothly and without a hitch! Best wishes!

Just bumping this thread I suppose. In reality, I'm going back to my old posts, shortening them, then updating any outdated links, and truth be told, I'm running out of things to type!

Howdy, everyone! This is perhaps my favorite royalty free album I've released! It's called Brain Monster, and it's got 16 full-length tracks and 8 Musical Events!

Big Fat Ghost is here. It's a smaller, yet plump royalty free album, ready to be used in your game!
