Jewel of the West
Ys the Magnificent is the jewel of the western world. Sitting at the mouth of Douarnenez Bay on the Crozon peninsula, a highly fertile stretch of land boarded by the ore-rich Avalon Mountains, Broceliande Forest and the Iroise Sea, it is considered impregnable. There sits King Gradlon the Great who rules over the kingdom of Kernev. The city’s enviable position has made it an incredibly wealthy commercial hub and an abode of science and knowledge. Its scientists and engineers indeed discovered a new, unique, revolutionary energy source, propelling forward a new form of technology that anybody else would deem magical.
It is no wonder, then, that the growing Angevin Empire, laying farther inland to the east, would be interested in claiming the wondrous city for itself. A military powerhouse, with technology well ahead of its neighbours even if nowhere near matching Ys’s, its armies marched to the west, young Emperor Plantagenet at their head. The other brittian kingdoms fell one by one: first the eastern Roazhon, Naoned and Dol, then the northern Rance, Penteur, Dreger and Leon. The troops are now laying siege to Ys, Kernev’s last hope. If it were to fall, the southern Gwened would have no choice but to follow suit and surrender.
The city filled to the brim with refugees, a unique yssian invention, the Pridwen, was fired up. It generated a big energy shield, created a big magenta dome over the city, sealing it from all outside influence. Although Ys might now feel safe from the imperial troops at its gates, tension is high within its walls between citizens and outsiders, between the decadent nobles, the rich merchants and the miserable plebeians, between the followers of the new faith and those of the old one. Adding insult to injury, the machines started waking up, developing a will of their own and wrecking havoc; A whole district was sealed until further notice. With food stocks dwindling and so many vying for power and freedom in an unstable era of change and struggle, will the yssian army be able to hold it all together? Will Ys stand?

Hello people
I am working on a celtic epic in 4 acts of my own and I figured I could use a partner in crime in regards to the battle system and gameplay aspects of my project. I'm honestly a bit stomped by such things, I've never been much of a battles person in RPGs. I pondered this for some time and decided to test the waters, so to speak, and see in anyone would be interested in joining me.
What I am looking for: someone to design AND implement the gameplay aspect of my game. Essentially the battle system, but if you were interested and wiling to do some sort of puzzle-y gimmick like dungeon tools or whatever for out-of-battle gameplay, it could be looked into. The conditions and requirements are:
[*]Another limitation: I manage pixel art to some extent but I'm not incredibly awesome at it. This means that if you opt for an art-heavy system, you either might have to pitch in on this or we might have to recruit someone else. Just saying.
I myself would be in charge of pretty much all the rest: I'm presently mostly working on character portraits, I'll also be doing the music myself eventually. I'll manage character sprites (I might try to recruit someone in the future but it's not a priority right now), I'll be mapping (although I'm still undecided on whether I'll hand draw maps or use tilesets). I'll be eventing and doing the writing. There might be room for you to invest more time and energy in other areas of the project if you are willing and interested but I'm not asking.
Unfortunately I have no demo or screenshots to show since actual work in the editor has not started yet, I'm preparing the art and finishing outlining the story for the time being. A demo is especially ludicrous as there is no gameplay right now: you'd be designing it
So, with all that's been said, is anyone interested in working on this project with me? Feel free to PM me to discuss ideas or whatever!

Essentially the battle system, but if you were interested and wiling to do some sort of puzzle-y gimmick like dungeon tools or whatever for out-of-battle gameplay, it could be looked into. The conditions and requirements are:
- It's free work, I'm not paying and this is not a commercial project, sorry. You of course get credits though. Maybe some sort of trade could also be discussed.
- It's an RPG Maker MV project, non-negociable. I'm a Mac user so having a "native" version is invaluable to me. This means you need to both have access to the program and know Javascript.
- You'd be the designer on this, so I'm giving up creative control to you. I of course have some ideas and would be more than happy to discuss them with you but you'd get final say. There are only two limitations due to story reasons:
There are 4 characters in the party (and the battle party).
- Magic is gotten by "equipping" spirits you acquire throughout the game. Think of FFVI's espers. My original idea was that the magic is not learnable and that you could "equip" up to 4 spirits by the end game, but I guess I could compromise on that if it turns out to be an issue.
