JEWEL'S RISE
 
Gan is a young shaman from the small village of Argain. Upon passing his initiation, he learns that the Jeweled Bird, the deity worshiped by the village for
generations, is threatened by a mysterious cult. Gan, along with warrior Ziska and the many allies he meets on his journey, must stop them. But things

aren't always as they appear...
 

Planned features:

-Deep story complete with twists and sidequests.

-10+ party members, each with a unique fighting style

-Unique dungeons and locales

-Challenging enemies and bosses, requiring careful play or at least some grinding.

-A multitude of optional bosses, bringing even skilled players to the limit.

Current characters:

Gan - Beastmaster: Young but talented, and fiercely devoted to the village, Gan combines shamanistic magic with the ability

to call the very creatures of the wilds to serve by his side.

Ziska - Berserker: Trained by the strongest warriors in Argain, she can unleash devastating attacks while in a battle rage.

Isabelle - Runemaster: A self-proclaimed hero who loves nothing more than to battle evil. She fights using superior swordsmanship

backed by her mystical runes which, once placed on a friend or foe, can create a variety of powerful magical effects.

Larson - Priest: By consulting the gods, he can call upon powerful restorative magicks, but he cannot cast his most powerful spells

over and over without waiting.

do not affect gameplay and cannot be created by me.

This is my first foray into RPG Maker and I'd really like to come up with something decent, so all comments and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
