I am requesting a way to modify only certain parts of a save file, without doing a complete save. I think it'd be easier to explain this in examples.
Example 1: In Undertale and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, cutscenes play differently (usually faster since you've seen it already) if you lose to a boss. Translated into RPG Maker, the game, upon seeing you lose to the boss, modifies your save file, changing a switch, and nothing else. When you reload, everything else is the same, but the save file has a new value for the switch.
Example 2: In Final Fantasy 6, when you die, the game reloads your last save. Except, all experience gained since the last save is kept. Nothing else is saved, only the experience points.
Example 3: Many games, upon beating the last boss, have an option to save the game. Reloading that save file will take you to, I dunno, the outside of the dungeon, last boss able to be fought again, maybe a hidden new dungeon is unlocked. Either way, its not simply saving all current data, but saving specifics.
Ideally, these save file modifications would be permanent. Like, the file is modified, and even if you exit the game without doing a full save, the modification/partial save is still there.
So, in summery, what I am asking for is the ability to save certain things to the game file, but not everything. Or, maybe it would be better phrased as just modifying a save file. I'd be more than happy with simply modifying switches and variables, but if there were ways to change all sorts of other data (stats, map id, player x and y, ect.) that'd be great as well!
Thank you for any help!
