Yes ! It's finally done ! Side view, back view. Not necessarily the most realistic way to do it, but as ksjp17 said, it doesn't necessarily have to. I also put all monsters on the island, now remains the last underground part to map, and the exceptional boss to draw.

Gah... I click on the video and instead of playing it on the tiny window it redirets straight to You Tube and I have to do rescroll and play the next... and no offense but EEEeeEEEEeeewww... Not a big fan of Mortal Combat. But I liked your post for the research. Was there something about gore on the forum... ^^; Even half of century and I think it is too young for that. :p

@Exhydra

Good thinking Exhydra. Also especially the monochrome. It helps focusing on the rest of the job! Especially 30 days of development; no time to obstinate who is daltonian.

@bgillisp

You'll make me want to animate it again! ^^

@Ksjp17

My beast? The Minotaur? I thought Minimino was in the Community DLC with Gotto La Belle the Ogre... If you speak of the $Demon, he started to get a lot more names than Slimmy and Bulky Slinky! As for your project... seems you need to clear your mind a wee bit! ;)

I kinda did the opposite of last month today somehow, I accepted a request and made some clock hands on a project someone beaten me up to make first! And... well you know what I also did; testing! ;)

@Marquise*, Yeah the Tsuyaga Family are a crime family (thus great villains in most game settings. Those and the Ureiha's (not necessarily for their fighting style but because of their six assassin body guards)). But yeah, while really the only gory fighting style (well intentionally gory), makes them kind of epic. In the sense that as a player character they either are the most scariest non-monster PC's to go up against (I was thinking a mixture of stories of Ancient Japanese martial artists that trained to rip out organs with their bare hands, Mortal Kombat, and Fist of the North Star when making that Crime Family), but also kind of cool for a person to choose to play as if they want to go that route / steal the martial arts from.

Personally I only fought against them twice in the game (and unlike my sniper of a bro. I decided to be a more short to mid range fighter) and both times I barely survived. But got tons of experience ... after several in-game months recovering from epic bouts of stupidity.

Sorry if it was a tad too gory. I thought that really only applied to the written word or graphics. Oh, how do I make youtube videos show up on the forums rather than having to link to the pages?

my other beast... XD I see. Yeah I took a while seeing if he was fitting well I will soon proceed to integrate the slim version (Not the on that I putted back 50 pounds more) into Custom Housing! on Steam soon.

@TheGreatEater

No worries you are a great mime and... I think it is YouTube doing it. Something tells me that Google again managed to scrap things around recently. -_-;

And yeah maybe I am too old for that kinda thing... I guess the more brittles our bones the more sensitive we get!

Gonna pic nic with a Sci-fi club today you all enjoy... it is murderous warm in here the air is heavy. (I freed with my hand a poor pure snow white albino night butterfly (moth) today before Church. ^^ It was kinda cool I like them because of their fuzzy antennas and furry bodies.)

@Marquise*, ^_^ thanks, and you're not that old (as long as you're young at heart). That and I'm sort of used to it, having Beta'd the PnD version for seven years. I promise that the rest of the martial arts aren't anywhere near as gory, the Tsuyaga's are pretty much the worst you can get (and even I get chills when either me or my bro bring them up in our Campaigns). But as villains, in any story really, they make quite memorable characters. Both since there are so few users (to give them scarcity), and because as that video shows, in a world setting they have quite the reputation as Close Quarters Combat experts that aren't to be underestimated.

But yeah I'm thinking of doing some back storying tomorrow on my webcam for youtube. And when I get into the at least story version of the Shishen-Jo's orgins. It's a philosophical gold mine, that's quite an interesting tale (IMO at least). Although I don't know if I should go into Creation Story, The Cataclysm, then the Shishen-Jo (which oddly enough is the same for all of the united Multiverses (hence one of the reasons behind "The Chained Destinies Series"). Or if I should have the first two of the list only mentioned in passing?

Little progress here. I mapped the last part of the island, I need to set the events inside now, and I designed the boss of the 8th mission. Here's the picture, I put a human besides for size comparison.

A very quiet time - holidays, Sunday, IGMC, no doubt all contribute.

@Schlangan

I think I'd rather meet the crab.  That is one nasty looking boss.

My update

Didn't get as much done on this game today as I hoped because of a problem that needed to be sorted on Undefeated.  Shaz's AppData Saving script cannot cope with user names with non-Latin characters.  So today I found and tested an alternative and organised the switch over.  Uploading to Steam is a nightmare, apparently, but I don't have to do it, that's part of Indinera's job.  I shall do the same for Tale of a Common Man and for the current one.  Apart from that, it was some more polishing and double checking passabilities on some very intricate maps.

@Exhydra. Sounds interesting. What are the other mini-games?
The only other one at this time is an Unlock minigame where the player exploits vulnerabilities in an old system to reveal and use the password. The player has to run through the various numbers, and sometimes has to switch to a different function type to find the correct answer. Not very intuitive at the moment, but I just do not have the time to polish the minigames since I need to switch my focus to the rest of the game now. I might apply a bit of polish later on. The minigames seem rather bland and vanilla to me as I create them (the code is a mess, but stable and functional), but I have to push on ...

@Exhydra

Argghhhhhhhh  timed mini-games (runs away and cowers in the corner)  It's interesting - give me a mini-game and I'll do it as fast as I can; make it a timed mini-game and my mind seizes up.  Perhaps it's because I have so much in the way of deadlines in RL that having another one crop up in a game is just too, too much to bear.
I would have done without the timed part of the minigame, but I really could not come up with something to add the 'tenseness' that would otherwise be lacking.

@Exhydra

Now I just have to complete the game. To be honest, I have really only completed one game, and it was a rather tiny game in a week challenge. If I do happen to complete this game, it will be the first 'major' one I have ever done.

Yeah, don't go by me and my reactions; I think I'm definitely in the minority on timed things.  Just think of all those high selling time management games - me, I couldn't imagine anything worse than sitting down and doing time management by choice.

@Engr.Adiktuzmiko

Do you mean the sort of name box that appears above the dialogue box?

My update

Struck by an example of "Poster's Curse" - you know, the minute you post something, you can see the answer/spot the mistake/remember what you missed out. that sort of thing.

Today I sent off the game and Guide to Indinera ready for when he can start the balancing etc. 15 minutes ago I found that I had a) missed a name from the Credits and b.) forgotten to put some battle dialogue into a conditional branch.  So I shall have to send it all over again.  I may play through the last 30-60 minutes of the game again, because that's the bit that has had fewest playthroughs (obviously) so is the most likely to have something like that.  And I was going to give myself a couple of days off....

*Headdesk* Somehow when I saved my Equine file. It saved it wrong. Loaded it up, and the entire thing is scrap. So now I'm going to have to redo the entire thing from scratch. *Headdesk*.

Oh no!! (Backups anywhere?)  I sorry to hear that.  I know it's little consolation, but you'll be able to do it so much faster than the first time round, but could I suggest that you make separate saved copies at different stages?  One is the copy that you're working on, but at strategic moments, you make a separate copy and park it in 'Archives'.  Not only would it help with something like this, but also if you decide at some stage to alter something, you can often pick it up from part way through the creation process.  I use a backup program which enables me to pick a backup from any day over the last couple of years from an external HD and call up that version.  I think it might be worth thinking about getting something like that.

My update

Sent off the game (again) so fingers crossed that's it.  I'm now very tired, and think I need a couple of days off any game dev work.  I shan't even think about any planning aspects until the weekend.  But hey, it means I finished all my July goals with a week to spare.  Maybe that calls for a nice glass of wine.

@Ksjp17, yeah I'll need to start making several spares. Looking at a Shire Horse atm, and while the legs'll be thicker than a normal horse [for the other part of the source material I'm using], I'm thinking the graceful curves, and nicely defined muscle tone (once I get it down right) will be good. I'm also going to be doing the front and back ends seperately, before adding in a torso, and other additional bits.

Short update today. Seems quiet around here too, is it the IGMC?

Last few days: So steam decided to go to the great digital file in the sky on my computer (it was hanging every time it launched), so I had to deinstall and reinstall it. Unfortunately that means I now have to wait for RPGMaker to reinstall itself, as this cost me everything in my steam directory. Thankfully my project was not in that directory, but I'm still on a standstill as it says it will be 12+ hours to finish the download. Guess I'll leave it on overnight and hope it is done by morning.

@GreatEater.

I feel for you. Right always have 2 or 3 backups with different names just in case? It happened to me sometimes to get corrupted files. And to loose or have to retsatr lots of things. :( (

@bgillips

It certainly is... Must be IGMC!

So updates; I updated on Steam Workshop Custom Housing! with my dream apartment repartition as if no locks, doors, safes, computer, thieves existed and included the new draconic star there and backuped it with updates comments. :D I thought there were more than 4 tilesets in RPGMaker Vx Ace. Might explains some of my hard times. But at the same time it is way cooler than I thought we can be immersed into it so much with not THAT much. :3 Proof a good narrator and great imagination helps!

now It seems a bit late to appear here) but anyway-) my July goal (my team goal) was to submit the project on Collective successfully, and we did it) Now our goal is to do everything we can to make it look as much appealing and fun as possible, and to find people to vote to) My dream is to have 70%+ of positive votes. Square-ENIX gave an advise to me just yesterday, there are lots of work to do, so I'll work all the rest of July as hard as possible-)

Cut-scenes for my IGMC project. It's proven more time consuming that I initially thought even though there aren't much (I'm perfectionist D:).

But I'm happy with the overall progress I did this month. Hopefully I'll have a game to show by the 4th I'm happy with :) A few people helping me out I don't wanna disappoint them!

Edit: Oh f***! This was supposed to go to the July Progress thread >.<
