I mean, don't get me wrong... I'm glad that I'm able to make music for people, but at the same time, unlike a lot of other musicians out there, I prefer to keep the spotlight off of me. Now with that said, I take it you might want to know about me, and believe me, I would love to just go on a long tangent about who I am, what I do, and while I do... but instead, to save time and allow you to keep your patience, I'll just make it brief.

Okay, I lied about making it brief, but here we go anyways.

My name is Josh, on 11/19 (that is some time in November of 2019) I'll be turning 27. I've been making video game music since as early as late 2002, possibly early 2003. Originally, I started making music for a friend of mine who was working on what he considered to be a "revolutionary" roleplaying game titled "Heroes From Within" for RPG Maker 2000. As you can imagine, being that it wasn't made available to the English public until sometime in 2015, there was obviously a bit of a language barrier between myself and the game creator. However, the biggest issue turned out to be that he just wasn't motivated enough to finish the project, so before the release of the game, and with a full soundtrack done, everything was abandoned and the project was cancelled.

Although I am disappointed that the soundtrack never got released and is now lost forever, it was still a great learning experience. Over the years, many more projects began to surface, some from the RPG Maker community, others from the Unity, and so on. Time and time again, I found myself creating what I would consider to be "acceptable music", cause don't get me wrong, I would love to say "oh yeah, I made the best music in the world and everyone loved it", but I'm not one to exaggerate and sugar coat my creative prowess. But anyways... over the years, I managed to work on some other projects, all of which I adamantly demanded that I not be named or mentioned in any kind of credits. I've been part of a few kickstarter projects, of which, rather than being mentioned as someone whom worked on the game, I did get mentioned as one of the "supporters".

Now you're probably wondering... "J9_2R, why don't you want people to know about you and what you do? Isn't it everyone's dream to become this famous person, loved by most, hated by some?" And yes, while it is a dream that many of us pursue, I personally, don't find that to be appealing. Don't get me wrong, I do want people to acknowledge the work that I do, but I don't want to then become this iconic figure that people are like "oh yeah, I've heard of that guy, he does outstanding music." I don't want to be the next Nobuo Uematsu (of which that would never happen, but still), I just want to do what I do, and give people the chance to have great music, at a price that doesn't even go into their wallet. I want people to say "You know... thanks", and leave it at that. A simple thank you is enough of a price for my work, cause although it doesn't pay the bills, it at least lets me know that I made someone else's day, just a bit easier than if they had to go out and pay someone for work that shouldn't be so expensive.

So yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say. If you want to know more, just go to my Twitch account, view the channel description/information section, click on the image, and that'll take you to my Jimdo website, where you can learn more about me, what I do, who I am as a person, and why I make music. As well as gain access to some of the songs I created from prior projects that didn't survive. Of course, as always, if you need music, feel free to contact me. I have quite a vast amount of time and unfortunately, not much to spend it on these days, aside from paperwork for my boring job.

Take Care!

One quick note, all the music I make, is often considered to be "RPG oriented", meaning whether it be chiptune/8-bit, full blown orchestra, or something casually done, much of it is designed to go with role-playing games, very rarely do I make music that isn't intended to be used in some kind of RPG.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
