So I just installed the Party System plugin into my main project.
I really appreciate the new formation screen. It's much more attractive, helpful, and intuitive.
I've been considering changing the party size to 6 over the past week, so I tried that out immediately. It did not look or feel right for my particular project and I quickly turned it off. Party of four just works a whole lot better for the game I'm making.
But the plugin has features I wasn't expecting. For example, changing party members in battle. Which matches my game perfectly and works great.
Also, locking or requiring characters. At the game's intro, you have to choose a protagonist but you can recruit the other character during the first chapter. Course, if you have 8 characters recruited and a party of 4 you can just pretend your "protagonist" doesn't exist anymore. This solves that issue.
It also had me considering options for alternate projects. So... imagine this... A pokemon-like game in which the main character is locked to party position 1 and you have a party size of 2. The human trainer fights alongside his "pets" and has skills which reinforce his role as a trainer. If you use the skill learn system, you could choose what kind of trainer you become. Do you focus on positive reinforcement skills? Do you focus on sadistic domination skills? Do you focus on combat skills to better fight beside your pet?
Anyway... Just enjoying today's plugin from Yanfly and it made me feel chatty...
What do you guys think?
