I've played episode one, and here is episode three, but I can't find episode two.  Okay, I'm an idiot, but where is it?

Heh, that's all right. They're all in the same download. Instead of making them all as separate projects, I thought it'd be neater to just keep updating the same one by adding new episodes into it. That way the players can play through them all in one go if they wish to (and carry over items and gold) or pick any to play at any time from 'New Game'.

Yep, found it and played 2 and 3.  Great fun, and I do like my new skills.  Got hit repeatedly with Nauseous and thought I was going to go under, but I toughed it out!

And so now number 4 - bring it on!

Awesome. I was hoping the boss at the end of Ep 3 wouldn't be too hard, since the game is more about laughter and fun than challenging combat, so I am glad it was doable. Also, every enemy in the game can be induced with nauseated state, so those rotten eggs can be quite useful to throw in their faces. :D

Ep 4 will be slightly different, but I am sure it'll be just as fun. I'll probably have it done by the end of this week or start of next.

When I saw the Steel Choir for the first time, I thought I was done for but then I pressed the attack button...

Must have took you some time to make those words rhyme. Congrats!

Those 4 Faces as statues look so cute for some reason.

Cool, new skills made the last battle easier.

Good job on Episode 3! Looking forward to the next one.!

Lol yeah. The Steel Choir look a lot more intimidating than they actually are. In their own words, they fight as one. And I had a lot of fun making those rhyming phrases. :D

The 4 temperaments faces will be making an appearance in each episode one way or another. So who knows how they'll end up in the future episodes. :p

So...

Episode 4 is out!

This episode is quite different to the previous three. It takes place in the town and features some crazy scenes.

A couple of screenshots (them angry villagers are going to get you)

...and I've already spotted a mapping error just by looking at that first screenshot. V_V

Oh man, you've got to release a pack of those battlers.

They're so funny and great!

Hehe, thanks. I'll probably stick them all somewhere on my resource thread once I've done all the episodes.

The chase scene was unexpected, yet it was a nice change of pace.

Good to see the four 'bat'-ty villagers, though they seem a little less talkative this time. (Could be due to them being under a spell?)

The merchant shines in this episode and seems to be the only one who got the better part of the stick in the end(?).

Can't wait to see what's in store next!

Yeah, Bob put a spell on many of the villagers, hence why they weren't themselves. And yeah, I wanted to develop the merchant's character a bit in this episode, so now he's going to stick with the heroes. Hehe. He's a pretty funny character to write, because he's sort of blissfully ignorant of everything and talks strange. I'll try to make remaining episodes a tad bigger (up to 15 min in length hopefully). Glad you liked this one. :D

Just did episodes 1 - 4 in one run, nice job! The humor gave me some chuckles in this game. I will admit I thought the boss to ep3 was going to do me in, but did manage to pull it off in the end.

How's progress on ep5?

Hehe, thank you. Glad you found them funny. You're the second person now to say that about boss at the end of ep 3. Hopefully it wasn't frustrating.

I haven't done much on ep 5 yet. Most likely will get to it once I've released my commercial project, so hopefully the end of this month. I've already come up what sort of area it will take place in.

It wasn't too bad, I had potions stockpiled, so just used those as needed. I just thought it a sudden jump up in the difficulty curve was all.

Episode 3 boss wasn't too hard if you used Green Tea for healing and the newly acquired skills for offense.

Depends...the person who could use Green Tea was often confused (or the games equivalent of it) when I did that fight, so that was not an option for many of my combat rounds.

@bgillisp:

True enough. I had few harrowing turns with that boss. Using John's summon helped me to delay the boss from acting. Pretty much saved my life.

I'll see what other players say. If anyone ends up struggling with this boss, I'll make him slightly easier, since the game is more about casual fun than challenge.

Maybe we can keep the accessories from episode to episode?
Any reason why?

I can do that of course, though that means I'll have to stop introducing any new ones, because I have to keep a track of which ones the player used in each fight for the stats at the end, and if there are too many, I'll end up with too many conditional branches in the events.

I suppose we could try and see how that goes. When I do ep 5, I'll edit the previous episodes to retain accessories between each one.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
