The last two episodes before New Year? That's amazing!

I love Grinotaur's return, and I did notice the beautifully-made custom poster (just didn't want to spoil it). ^^

Keep up the good work, but make sure to enjoy yourself as well during the holidays!

Thanks for all the fun and laughs! ^^

I will wait for Episode 8 first, so I can finally play them all together and die of laughs...ahahah.

I must say this though Matseb (I said it countless times but I'm never tired to repeat it), you really impress me by how fast and efficient you are in terms game development, you provide good quality games in short time and this is seriously amazing.

Thanks man. Not long left now till they're released. And thanks for the kind words. I think the most important thing to being productive is to enjoy what you're doing, because when you do, you tend to get immersed in the activity for hours without noticing how fast time flies by. :D

Ladies and gentlemen. The historical moment is upon us. The game is complete!

Episodes 7 and 8 are out!

These two episodes conclude our 8-part comedy series. How will the story end? Play these episodes to find out. More laughs await you. :D

Also, as requested by some people, all the funny battlers I've edited together for this game are being released for everyone to use. You can use these however you want, even if you just want to stare at how ridiculous they look. Since they are RTP edits, use is only limited to RM engines of course. Credit to me would be appreciated.

Download the battlers here.

Well, I faced them all:

First of all congratulations for finishing all the 8 episodes! Took me around 1 hour to play them all and I must say that it was a very enjoyable experience, they're fun, full of humour and with nice ideas here and there.

Favourite Episode:

4. I liked the chasing minigame a lot.

Favourite Character:

Jean...*chomps*

Favourite Enemies:

The Steel Singers (all of them). Their voices are very funny, ahahah.

I also liked the part in Episode 2 when you face the two gargoyles that talk together, and so killing one will make the other not able to talk properly anymore (that was hilarious). The puzzles and the trolling treasure chests in Episode 5 were pretty cool too.

Everything seems polished and well balanced, there's only one issue so far:

- Painkillers are consumable even when I have full Hp and the inventory closes everytime I use them.

I didn't use many items tbh and I didn't even toy with the accessories that much, but I liked how equipping one will increase a stat decreasing another, this makes you able to take different approaches in battles.

Overall this hour was totally well spent, I reccomend these little games for people that want to play something short, funny and enjoyable. I would like to see a sequel about Bob in future, he's a very cool villain.

Great job Matseb, I had a lot of fun.

Thanks for the feedback, man. Glad you enjoyed it. :D Making people laugh was my exact intention with this project, so I am glad it delivered.

I think I know why Painkillers might be behaving that way. I have them increase a variable via a common event every time they're used (for the stats at the end), and that probably causes the menu screen to close.

I do hope people will remember Bob after playing the game. He is just a misunderstood guy. A crazy, self-loving misunderstood guy, but still... :p

Due to a bout of insomnia, I've just played the last couple of games. A fitting end to an hilarious saga. Congratulations on the series. They have been great fun to play (except, for me, the chasing mini-game, cuz I have never liked them, so nothing personal). I am amazed at the speed you've done these and still kept the quality high.

And thanks for sharing the battlers. I think a lot of people will have fun using them.

Thanks man. I am glad you've found the series fun. It was certainly fun to create it too - something entirely different to most other games of mine. :D

The entire game takes just about an hour to play from start to finish.

Plot twist and a great end to a fantastic game!

I'm so happy for Bob and all the characters!

The Fat Wendigo was an fitting ominous presence in the final episode. Odd and ironic, the way he was finally defeated.

I still wondered where he went off to after the first cutscene, since there's a body of water to the east, a barrier to north, and Steve to the south (and he's still alive).

Gotta love that awesome battle theme by Scythuz! ^^

Bugs(?):

- An odd bug occurred when I loaded my save file from after defeating Grinotaur in Episode 6. The sprite reappeared but no cutscene initiated.

- Are the Four Humours' faces supposed to stay on the map after the last battle?
Thanks for all the good and bad times from the "Just Face It" cast, and for the most comedic and light-hearted game I've played in a long time! ^^

Thanks Susan. Glad you enjoyed it.

The Fat Wendigo can cross the body of water since the water is pretty shallow compared to his height. :p He can also make use of those drops in some areas. He's a troll pretty much, in every sense of the word.

Yeah. Drifting through the Ruins, right? The whole game just uses Scythuz' music. It was one of the challenges I set for myself, to try and only use his music.

Cheers for the bug report. Cabfe also mentioned Grinotaur's reappearance. I had a look and it seems I set the blank event page on it to a wrong condition, so it's been fixed now and most likely I'll put it up in the next update.

The Four Humours' Faces are meant to stay on the wall, yeah, since you still hear them talk after the battle. They're pretty much like deities in their own right, and able to manifest as different beings (bats, spiders, plants, etc) and cause mischief.

You're lucky I found back your tread.  I wasn't supposed to be on-line today and when the exterminator rang I was on Google map trying to find the very best way to get to kitty pension but saw your link on Steam from someone who wanted me to see it.  Well I clicked on the link but my computer was slow enough today and had to close it fast thinking I had to be out in the cold 8 hours.   But, well since they did nothing I had to revise all my day but my contact's chat line was gone and I thought I couldn't see this back.  But I did!

So...  Happy the Ogre sides are having a work out.  ^^

@Matseb,

I had to...  To debug my own initiatic game.  A rare time we solve a bug in Photoshop ;)

No matter what, since the RPGMaker community helps me a lot, I decided that I would share to all (I was afraid at first it would offend Lunarea but was pushed a wee bit more to do the rest or the spriteless battlers and when the Free Community DLC was on... She must had saw it! *blushes*)

Anyhow, I'm doing a ball sheet now (bouncing ones) and the $BigMonsters rotation is still in my list ^^

Ok Matseb, Here is part 1 of my play through!

Notes:

Hilarious game. The humor is there.

Mapping is great too.

Items and skills have VERY creative names.

The only issue I had and it may seem strange; It's too funny. I couldn't play much more than 45 min and I was laughed out. It's not a bad thing I just need to come back to it.

Thanks for the submission and here is the Video!

Enjoy!

Thanks for doing the LP, Drassray. I've just watched the whole thing. That grandpa killed you. Lol. I certainly see it as a good thing if it was too funny. Glad to hear you've enjoyed it so far. :D

Let's begin with a negative comment shall we?

The font coloring on the title screen is not practical. Just Face it! I mean, I can hardly see what it is written man! And all these silly faces and the tears in my eyes from the laughter doesn't help! Your font is not ergonomic. Do you listen?

Let's continue.

The plot of the game revolves around a guy with a stupid face that casts a curse upon a village, because everyone was making fun of that silly face. Now everyone has a silly face. Our heroes try to get their face back to normal. They will have to face humorous moments, having you, yes you, the player, guide them to a really excellent and funny journey.

What can I say about this game? You double click it and enter a title screen that makes you laugh instantly.

This game series made me laugh more than any other VX Ace game out there.

If the game would be an action game and not turn based, I would have lost because of laughter.

What can I say? Skill naming is hillarious! You can't even fight a battle withougt laughing. You see silly faces everywhere! Just everywhere.

That was a stroke of genius in my opinion and it makes it worthy as a gaming experience.

I can't talk about anything without making a spoiler of a good laughter, so NO. I can not say many things about what is happening and any favorite moments and stuff.

This is also the first game I ever saw the ogre by Marquise being used. I really liked that asset that is shared in the free community DLC by the way.

The game is intentional very humorous and it started with the first chapter

(you don't say?)

that was a small game for a contest about silly faces from the face generator. Now it is a collection of eight chapters. So I consider it as a normal game.

I have to be fair here, the game might started as a quick project for a contest, but now as it has become a hillarious fun story, there should be an introduction to controls and formal stuff like that, just to make room for more jokes also I imagine. As a matter of fact, showing a serious face can make it even more hillarious than it already is!

It would also be nice to glue all these chapters together to form the final form of this excellent epic game. Music is fantastic, graphics are quality, mapping is decent and what makes it shine most is cut scenes. You will not believe how funny this game is and if you haven't tried it yet, what are you waiting for! Go and get it now!

I never regret playing such a game and since this made me have a great time, I consider it as a freeware gem made by VX Ace. Once again congratulations and I expect even more fun stuff from you in the future!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
