Out of curiosity. Other than being busy, what are the circumstances in which you would not spend quality time bonding with another family member living in the same household?

It depends on the relationship the two have, but not wanting to comes to mind as one of the main ones. If you wanted to spend time with them, you'd find time, busy or not.

Wanting to spend time on a million other things such as:

- Being alone

- Working on hobbies

- Playing games

- Doing chores

- Playing with pets

And of course, whether or not you have a good relationship with said member. God knows how I avoided everyone when I was still living with them because I couldn't stand them anymore, and now that I see them a lot less, I am more inclined to hang out with them.

To me it doesn't matter if the person is a friend or a family member. If I like someone, we hang out. If I don't like someone, I keep it cordial.

However, I'm also an introvert and I have no shame keeping to myself just because "I want to." If I want to hang out, I will.

Now, if we're talking about a family member I'm not fond of; if I have a dysfunctional relationship with someone I don't put myself into a compromising situation just because we have similar DNA.

Inability to form any sort of familial bond despite how much care they show me, as a direct result of parental abuse and complete subsequent mental disconnect from anyone related to me except for family members of my age group or lower.

A sad facet of my life and one I am working to mend; I've learned that even though abuse occurred, it was not only a result of my stepfather's failure as a parent, but of my own foolishness in despising correction and discipline. He was repeating his father's form of 'correction' and thus I cannot blame him any longer than I once did. Not to mention I am the product of two divorces prior to meeting this new father figure.

Anyway, I'll spare a drama novel here.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
