[Kaimi]

So I recently created a few weapon motions for the sideview mode and decided to share them here.

Information

• All images are edits of RPG Maker MV's RTP, unless stated otherwise, so please credit Kadokawa. Crediting me is optional, but will be appreciated.
• Free for use in both non-commercial and commercial projects.

Blaster Edge​

Based on blaster edges used by Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII. The projectile is a heavily edited arrow from RMMV RTP.
Recommended motion: missile

Card​

A somewhat niche weapon type, a throwing card! Ace from Final Fantasy Type-0 is a well-known card wielder, although he controls the cards with magic; oh well.
Recommended motion: swing

Dart​

A type of throwing weapon favoured by gamblers, like Setzer Gabbiani from Final Fantasy VI.
Recommended motion: swing

Dualblade​

Based on the dual-bladed weapons wielded by the likes of Zidane Tribal from Final Fantasy IX and Hubert Ozwell from Tales of Graces f.
Recommended motion: thrust

Gauntlet Blade​

Based on the gauntlet blades wielded by Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria.
Recommended motion: thrust

Gauntlet Scythe​

Alternative:

From what I know a similar weapon is wielded by Nan from Tales of Vesperia.
Recommended motion: swing

Gunblade​

Alternative:

A weapon type popularized by Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII. This is an edit of RMMV RTP which took several tries to get the look right. I'm somewhat content with the end result.
Recommended motion: swing

Pendulum​

A rarely seen weapon type in games, a pendulum; Dezel and Zaveid from Tales of Zestiria wield it in battle.
Recommended motion: thrust

Spinner​

A weapon type wielded by Marta Lualdi from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. While the weapon outline was taken from the system icon of the game mentioned above, the rest of the spritework is mine.
Recommended motion: thrust

Thanks for your patience, everyone!

The first post was updated with a slightly improved set for the gauntlet scythe (the old one is still there) and a new weapon type: the blaster edge from Final Fantasy VIII, courtesy of Rinoa Heartilly! The blaster edge's projectile is an "original" creation of mine, being an edit of MV RTP's arrow from the bow set. If you want to create your own projectiles for the blaster edge just feel free to replace the first frame with the second or a third one and put a sprite you want on the blaster edge in the first frame.

Are there requests for some weapon types you'd like to see? I am not a very experienced spriter so nothing too complicated, please.

Since Wednesday, I've been hard at spriting work and today I'm giving you five (5) new weapon types: cards, darts, pendulums, spinners, and... gunblades. That's right! Everyone gets a gunblade, free of charge! Now go wild!
