Keyboard Manager Setup Help

Hi! :)

In the project I'm working on, I'm trying to make an easy and quick way to switch to a desired actor at the press of a button, while also using an Action Battle System (XAS). I decided to try the script Keyboard Manager, but unfortunately I haven't the slightest idea how to set up these new keys and actions.

What I'm hoping to accomplish is to make the key pad (1-9) buttons switch to the corresponding actor in the party (pressing the 5 key would switch to the 5th party member). If the corresponding member is KO'ed, or if there isn't a corresponding party member (pressing the 7 key while only having 6 or less members), the key simply wouldn't do anything.

Could someone please help me out with setting this function up?

The keyboard manager is intended to allow you to rebind keys easier, not necessarily to be used as a way to use the full keyboard, but that will work. In order to do what you want, however, you'd need an additional scriptlet.

If you want to have an even in the background, likely a parallel common event, you could use conditional branches where the condition is a script with the following

Input.trigger?:)_num1)

Whicu would check for 1 being pressed on the numpad. You can change the 1 in the code above to use other numbers.

There is a list at the top of script (after the giant comment that is the header) that lists each key that you should be able to use.

JUST A NOTE: the way this script works is based on the US English keyboard, and I have been told this makes it in accurate sometime for other keyboard layouts. The numpad, however, probably isn't affected.

Thanks for the help! I got the common event set up and working on button press, although now I'm stumped on what script call do I use to actually switch party members? Ideally I'd like to simply swap the two members (so a party of members 1,2,3,4 would hit the 3 key, and now be in the order of 3,2,1,4), although simply shifting formation to the correct member could work too.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
