A new version of my lighting script is available! It's called Ultra Lighting and it is a great improvement over Awesome Light Effects! You can get more information about it here


- Introduction:
Hello there! This is an advanced Light Effects script, which provides realistic effects. You can setup your own effects (static light sources) and create a lantern (dynamic light source).

I've been trying to reach the download link to get the script, it says "the page cannot be found."

Is the website down? Or is something wrong on my end?

When I exit a map the lights don't go off or back to normal. How do I them back to normal. As far as I could see in the demo there was no changes to anything in the events when exiting a map.

edit-error SOLVED and here is how. So if anyone else has this problem in the future.

Use the script call $game_map.effect_surface.set_alpha(0) to remove this effect from other maps

Credit - thanks to solistra for filling me in on how to fix this error. I had never even heard of anyone else having this problem.

Later Edit- had another issue occur with this script

I have decided not to use this script until these errors have been resolved.

How can i disable this script until i need it?

i cant use the screen tone, it only goes darker.

should i put this in an event?

Also, by pressing F12 does anyone get an error. Either a crash or "Load" not working? I get that whenever I use this script...

Does this work in VX or does it just work in ACE.

It is for ACE, but there are other systems for VX that also implements some light effects.

Yes, there is. But Khas doesn't allow his systems to be converted. You should ask him if he allows a conversion for this one, and then post it in the script request forum or in the classifieds if you're willing to pay for it.

Really? Oh well I'll just look for a similar script for VX. Or I could just find a really good parallax script for ACE and use my already maps so I don't have to remake them. Either way anyone got any good Ideas?

Ok so I found a overlay script that is just as good as the one I was using in VX so I can continue making my game in ACE so I could use this script. I copy all my overlay maps and the set events for the lighting effects to see how it interacts with my parallaxed map. When I open the game and start the screen darkens as it should but its as if the light event doesn't exist. I can walk through as though its not there and it doesn't even show the light. The event itself doesn't seem to exist in the game. I then tried it on another map that had no parallax's but I got the same problem. It only worked properly when I removed the overlay script completely. I don't know how to fix it. I tried swapping the order the two conflicting scripts but that didn't help either and I'm only using these two scripts so far. Someone please tell me how I can fix this and if it helps the overlay I'm using is Yami's.

Also there is a conflict between the terms. The one in the scripts says that it is for personal use only but the site says that it's also free for commercial use. Which one is it?

EDIT: It's the one one the site (the most up2date one) so it's available for commercial use as long as you credit him properly and not alter it.

getting "error 403 Forbidden":

I can't read the terms :( And I would really like to use this!

Edit: I'm stupid, should have read the post above me before posting. (idiot moment)..

Instead of starting a topic with my tiny question, I might aswell ask it here. Is it possible to use this script with the 640x416 resoloution?

*Nevermind, think I figured it out, it was just to change the res in the various light efftecs scriptcalls :)

Edit once gain:

So I fixed one issue, but I'm now experiencing another.

The only way to make the room very dark is to setup the a, (opacity) pretty high, but once I have done that I get this:

The choise option is barely visible and the marker can't be seen at all. Same goes for the text that's appearing on the map (scroll text) etc. I tried to set Surface_UE to false, and use the event command 'Tint screen' instead, but then the light effects doesn't work at all..

I did a test in Khas demo with a choice command, and It's the same problem there.. Is it possible to use the tint screen command instead while still being able to use the light effects properly?, because that opacity error is messing up my texts.

I'm not sure why the light effects won't work when I turn the Surface UE to false, since I thought that was a feature for the shadows on the walls, and roofs etc..

I'm also experiencing a bit of performance drops from time to time, but I guess that's because I use too many light effects for an area..

I'm not sure if the antilag script by yanfly could fix that though, but I have tried it once already and for some odd reason it will mess up my weather effects..

Thanks! I think I must have missed that one.. I'll try it out and see how it goes :) Do you think this will resolve the opacity issues of showing images and scrolling texts aswell? Cause I had the same problem with those.
