And btw... There will always be people who try to make an issue out of it. Specially if you release it to a wide audience. My advice is to completely ignore those who try to make more out of it then it is. No matter how great the urge, replying to them will only make things worse. In those cases remember:

Anything you say online can and will be turned against you by angry internet trolls.

Google "Pokemon is the devil" and you see serious grown up people with an education telling full rooms about satanic symbols in pokemon... If you reach enough players, you will also reach the nuts.

I'm a Christian myself, and I even I don't think there's anything "evil" about Pokémon! I'm not personally a fan (I was never interested in Pokémon as a kid), but I don't think it's evil. The evidence they use doesn't even make sense. For example, Pikachu has a lightning bolt-shaped tail because he's an electric Pokémon, but these Christians who are overreacting are saying "he's Satanic! Lightning is a symbol of the Devil!" The whole thing is ridiculous! I'm a Christian, but I'm not paranoid like that. And besides all that, Pokémon is Japanese, and there aren't really a lot of Japanese Satanists out there anyway; most Japanese believe in Buddhism or Shinto, not Satanism; they don't even believe in Satan. Logic!

Seriously, people, don't go around trying to "find" things. You're wasting your time.

Oh, yeah-one last thing-the guy talking about how demonic pokemon is in the video is from "The Prophecy Club", and it's not even a legitimate Christian organization-it's a cult. So-yeah. Don't even take him seriously. :p

Since this is getting into political and religious territory now we probably should not talk any more about this.

I mean...the point was that it's not a widely held belief and just happens to be so out there that people feel compelled to talk about it. When something goes that viral it feels like a bigger issue than it actually is.

But, yeah. Please navigate the rest of the conversation carefully.

Hoo-boy... I'm definitely not going to touch on religion or politics with a ten-foot barge pole dipped in disinfectant.

@fantasyfan2035 Just pay attention to how you portray the character in the given situation. If the character is uncomfortable or distressed by the situation, address this within the game's narrative and resolve the matter in a way that doesn't insult the character's vulnerability. It wouldn't hurt to have someone playtest the scenario; a fresh pair of eyes might notice any potential issues you could have overlooked. One of the old Mario tennis games introduced the player character in their skivvies and no one batted an eye.

Running around in our undergarments, or a lack thereof, is a universal childhood experience even if our hippocampus deleted any recollection of it.

I've not made the scene, but I can give context.

The reason there is a shadow monster stealing clothes is because there is an npc that has the Rod of Shadows. It allows the user to create shadows to do your bidding. The npc uses it to get out of the things his mom nags him about. He makes a shadow and orders it to make it so he doesn't have to do laundry anymore. He thinks it works because his laundry basket is empty the next morning. However, the shadow monster often misinterprets orders. As time goes on, it thinks, in order to complete the command ,it must get rid of all the clothes so there will no longer be any laundry to do.

Meanwhile, the main character has successfully stopped two other shadow creature events from previous orders. The mc has been successful up until this point so I thought it would be fun to have one of his plans backfire.

The mc puts up a clothes line with clothes up to lure the shadow monster. He waits in the bushes for it, but the shadow monster comes from the other direction and surprises him. It leaves him in his underwear, and it takes the clothes on the line to boot. The mc does get embarrassed but gets over it quickly to give chase to the shadow creature. He chases it into the forest where the player will need to catch it. Afterwards, he is relived that he has his clothes back and no one saw him in his underwear; however, the creature had escaped deeper into the forest.

That's a good thing. Because when people talk about topics like that, it always starts arguments. Somebody doesn't agree with you, then they get pissed off (or you get pissed off they don't agree with YOU), you argue WITH that person about why you think they're wrong and they do the same to you, and sooner than not, it all erupts into a gigantic online flame-war where you have several people all arguing very angrily with each other about the same topic all at once.

No. Just no. Don't do that. Don't even talk about stuff like that because it'll always cause drama.

Let's at least go back to the topic of OP's game scenario. I really think that's quite funny @fantasyfan2035 !!! That seems like pretty relatable kid stuff. Your context seems perfectly appropriate and actually pretty charming. Hell, I'm 33 and I still hate folding. Not gonna lie, I'm a shove it in the drawer kinda gal.

What he talks about wasnt my message though. I wasnt trying to show that pokemon is evil. I just want to say that if you reach enough people, you also reach the extreme nuts, like the guy in the video. There is nothing you can do about that.

His story wasnt the subject if my reply... the guy is. He might be an extreme example, but it shows that no matter what you do, there will always be haters who are against it.

@JohnDoeNews I didn't think you were. I was just stating my personal opinion that I agree with you that it makes no sense, and yes, I agree, it's very stupid. These people are wasting everyone's time.

OMG Y'all. I found an alternate Google Drive I 100% forgot I had. All my crusty old game files from 2014 (when I signed up) are in there. When I like...maybe actually make a prototype thread it's gonna be so much fun taking everyone down my memory lane.
We are at the finish line!!! Thank you COMMUNITY!!!

Well, my cat died. Just had a feeling something was off, and went to check.
Someone abandoned her a while ago when she was pregnant, and she wandered into my yard.
Took her to the vet, and did all the usual stuff, making sure she had all the shots and no one was looking for her.
She had the kittens. I kept 1, and found a home for the rest. (Continued because of the limit)
Most disappointing adult event: buying a house that no one comes to on Halloween.

Most redeeming adult event: having a kid to take out trick-or-treating again.
