Self-Bio
Hello everyone, this is my first attempt at making a real game. I am a 1-man team, there is no one else. I have no background with ruby and have put over 200 hours into this game only to compile a demo. All feedback is more than welcome, please enjoy.

Intro
Kill Island is a turn-based RPG that puts a lot of emphasis on decision-making and choice. Nothing sacrificed can be regained. At its current stage, Kill Island is nothing more than a Demo meant to give the player insight into the final product.

Synopsis

Strategy is everything. How will you manage to stay alive and tactfully defeat your opponent(s)? In a world where assassins are the most highly trained killers, you find yourself being trained to be a flawless, professional assassin. Through basic and advanced training you graduate and progress into an open-world environment where the story develops at your own pace. At this point my goal is to make a plethora of options for the player to do whatever he or she wants. There will obviously be a main storyline to follow and progress, but at the same time there will be side quests to branch off to. Which path of assassination will you choose?

Story

As the game progresses, you will find out more about your past. Your parents were killed and you have a scar on your face reminding you every day of the specific incident. The main quest of the game is finding out who killed your parents. When the story begins, you are an 18 year old male on a ship to the assassin HQ of Death and Taxes. After completing and graduating basic training, the main character will fly on a ship to the advanced training area. After completing the advanced training, you begin to follow the main quest as you are willing to do anything and everything in order to find out who killed your parents and get your revenge. The title of the game refers to the final trial the player must overcome to get revenge on who killed his parents.

Critiques

·         There are only 3 skills per character, and 3 different TP modes. This isn't a huge representation of my strategy/tactic tag, but in the future there will be a decent amount of skills and TP modes per character, probably around 10 each.

·         The men, women, and instructor's tents are not accessible in the training area. In the future I plan to incorporate something here.

·         I would like to include some sort of eye-catcher while doing instructor/xavier intro at the start of the game.

·         Winning quotes - Couldn't really think of anything at the time, will ABSOLUTELY improve at a late date.

·         No indication of surprise/first attack. Working on including some sort of indicator for this in the future.

·         If you press the right arrow, it skips your turn. Not sure why this happens but going to problem solve in the future.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
