Kira's Legacy

Kira's Legacy is a short RPG game set in the Kingdom of Tranquil.

Aldis, a young resident of Serenity Town, and his sister, Kira, find that life isn't always as it seems. An old legend which has been passed down from generation to generation finally becomes reality.

Fight through Forests and Dungeons and solve multiple puzzles in order to stop the Evil Queen Mara, and hopefully save your sister.

On your journey you will meet many interesting characters, some of which will aid you on your journey. Merchants and Inns in each town will ensure you have the right equipment before heading out into the wilderness where danger lurks around every corner.

Will you fight on and stop the Evil Queen Mara? Or will you fall at the last hurdle and let her destroy everything you ever loved?

The fate of the world rests on your shoulders!

I played for a tiny bit and here are my thoughs for now:

1) few tiny typo's, and 1 fairly in the start when getting the fish for the
old main with I am i... with the 2nd i has to be capilized.

1.1) there are some more tiny typo's, but can not pinpoint that directly.

2) the first map into the wood has a bridge over grass and water next to it,
this seems weird, the other bridges I came across are nice.

maybe to much over the grass (2 tiles) instead of just 1.

2.1) you also seem to miss a tree wall in the first map in the beginning
on the left map where this bridge issue is.

3) while some houses interiour looks a bit off, the outside maps on the other
hand are really nicely done.

4) in Woodfall Town when you need to get info on the jewel, there is NONE,
but after you reach the temple that need the said sword (Heaven Sword),
the old man talked obout hte temple and the jewel.

Now that I on my way for this "Haven Sword" where ever it may be, I need
probably to the lost maze to get it. But I will track this thing down later on
when I got some time to play.

In overall I think some monsters a bit unbalanced and need a bit adjusted.
but if you play smart, it is really doable.

I can tell more when I got deeper into the story.
As for the INN in the town (except your starters town), or even that one,
can ask gold for refresh (start with 20 on the woodfall town), free healing
can be optional once you compleeted it on only the first one free or unless
you left town and come back.

this part is your choices while I give feedback/suggestion you can do
whatever fit you best.

as your first game, there are improvements, but the first bit I played is really
nice, and not bad at all.

(I give you more detailed suggestion/feedback/bugfixes when Im deeper in the game
or have beaten it, so keep up the nice work in case you going to polish it :)

Thank you very much for the feedback, I am continually updating the game to make it as polished as possible so this is a great help. Thank you

in the first dungeon, I might have skipped a room, but in the first room,
on the right side (top next to door) are walkable walls.

the little puzzle with switches are nice, the other one with memorize
is a bit harder, specially its probably a bit hard to see, but really nice
idea to put it that way.

also, while I failed at the first boss (for now) need to backtrack to get some
potions, there are some things in mind (if I'm being to critic, tell me), because
I can be like that, but the dev's learn from it if you can handle it and it's up
to you use it or not.

1) the conversation (which I skip a bit more) is nice, but the thing I notice,
they dont show expression (happy, angry, sad etc, but uses 1 face), this
can be crucial if you want the play draw into this part, so see what you can do.

2) the design on the first dungeon map, is nicely made, even if it's a bit small,
but try to draw the attention that they need to different maps too.

3) the lost maze is maybe big, but the path can be easy to reconize and
visible, (where you get the Haven Sword), I would suggest the following
if you want too as suggestion or think if it's possible and in reach.

create 5 maps, or use the one you have with multiple exits (at least 4),
while the map is big, and has some object, you can place clues there,
if the path is equal to the clue (for example, NNWWSEN than you get
to the sword, otherwise, you start up all over, and exit to the south than
will return you to the precious map.

this makes getting this sword intresting to get.

the invernoment of the dungeon is enjoyable, but I also think, the prices
for the potions otherwise or lack of finding them is kinda low.

you might have your reasons here, but I might re-start the game
from the start, and pinpoint the typo's (half) and glitches on my way.

you might get it double of what I have reported, but you can skip those.
but that need to wait for the next week, kinda busy atm, but I hope I get
the time to beat the demo and help you improve where needed when
possible while you probably learn.

Another side feedback/suggestion, the skills "Magic" of Haven Sword
and double arrow (of Saz) that I got in the conversation how Saz know magic!
while it doesn't have MP or use any MP or TP of using this skill, making it
probably to easy to abuse it constantly, see if you can find a way to avoid
that part.

but if I have to be honest, it's fun to play, and while most settings are
basicly default (I think), it lacks combat experience.

take your time to find something or some help in this part if needed, but
dont give up either :)

so far I played your game, it have potentional and for people that like
adventure and puzzle in those for what I saw, they would love it for sure :)

A few of the things listed are intentional, such as the low price for potions, it was more so to balance the difficulty of certain enemies.
I have slightly altered the maze as you said, where there are now exits you can go into that send you back to the beginning. May branch it out even further.
The earlier issues with the first forest map are now fixed too.
The thing with the Skills of Saz is that they are less accurate than the base attack skill, so it may deal more damage, but it's also more likely to miss, so it's the risk you take of using it.

But again, thank you for the feedback, and I shall try work on those things to improve it further.

I did some speed run through it, and skip most text for a faster run,
but there is also a typo at teh ice temple boss, I think after the fight
with the word "proably" instead of probably?

I hoped to get the a tiny cutscene on the end in kira's house with
the 3 celebrating her return. (but it can be me).

but it's not that really challening, but you can take your time and compleet
the game if you fight a bit more within 5-6 hours, but nicely done.

I can hardglitch it if I take my time, but I dont do grammar because its not my
strong side on that part.

but nicely done.

on the side note, of the skills/magic that dont require MP is maybe best to
add one too, healing on a higher level is still low, maybe 10-20% of max HP
of the user/ally?

good job, and nice maps, maybe a bit to straight in some ways, but still
lovely made.

I will see if I do a new run in a more polished version :)

EDIT:
also forgot yo mention, why are party members added as followers?
and not "name" joined the party?

I will try and sort through all of the typos, thank you for bringing that one up.
Originally there was a cutscene at the end that previewed a potential new game, but I removed it in case I can't manage to actually bring that game about. Hopefully I can, but I'm doing it in Pixel Game Maker MV so it'll be a new learning process. I suppose I could still add some sort of ending where we see Kira back home.
In terms of the healing spell, it's something I genuinely forgot to add in. I kept telling myself to put a more powerful version in or at least scale it with the character but i forgot, so thank you for bringing that up.
As for the followers, I don't know, something I never really though about but thank you again for mentioning it. I will see what I can change for the better!
