Lag while playtesting?

So everything has been working great up until today. No issues. Then suddenly when I go in and do a battle test or a full play test, everything is going 25%-50% slower than it has been. This is really noticeable while moving and running in game. Running is slower now than normal movement was before.

RMMV is completely up to date. It does this with or without scripts active.

I also have my driver up to date. I have a GTX 970. My PC definitely isn't the issue, plus, as I said it has been working fine up until today.

I followed the instructions found on these forums on steps to deal with lag and none of that made a difference.

Any ideas? Because I have no clue what's going on.

EDIT: If I make a new project then it seems like it clears up the issue... But I would really like to avoid doing that.

Did you add any new plugins recently, if a new project is perfectly fine?

If the lag is only in one specific project, then that means that either a plugin or (more probably) an event in that project is causing the lag.

And now you have to find that cause and correct it - most likely a badly written parallel process event.

Please check if the lag is only on specific maps or on everyone - if it is on every map, it's most likely a common event. In that case, check all common events to see which ones are set to parallel - especially the unnamed common events.

If it happens only on specific maps, you need to check all events on that map

I added Yanfly's new CTB battle script. However, I tested after adding this and there were no issues. This was a few days back. Today I went to test a battle and that's when I first noticed the issue. It became even more apparent after doing a playtest. I've also turned off all plugins and hit save. Then done another playtest. Same issue.

I really don't think it's a plugin since everything was working fine with all of the same plugins just 2 days ago. But I don't know.

The lag is in battle tests as well as playtests. I have no events that have gone off and it is still there. I also have no parallel events set on this project yet.

EDIT: I also haven't added any events to the game at all for over a week. I've been simply working on writing story out and adjust numbers for stats.

Then check if one of your background programs is interfering, or if your windows is suddenly pressed for resources. Also do a malware check.

Thank you. I had Malware somehow. I removed it and now it works perfectly! Don't know why I didn't even think of that.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
