Two worlds, a 10-year war...and a promise between two friends.
SYNOPSIS:
Lament of Castamia is a traditional RPG with heavy roots in Japanese-developed RPGs, specifically Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Final Fantasy VI. The game takes place in the Kingdom of Castamia, where the main cast works under the Adventurers' Guild, a guild reworked into an organization hunting mysterious life forms called Hollows, and helping the land heal. The player is tasked with helping the Kingdom stand back on its feet, as well as driving back the Hollows infecting the world and taking lives. The player travels back and forth between the two parallel worlds over the course of the story, each having their own unique maps and dungeons to traverse. The overall game is currently expected to take 20+ hours to complete, but this may change during further development.
STORY:
10 years ago, an event widely named the "Great War" began. Formless beings called Hollows began to roam the earth, blurring the line between the two parallel worlds, mass slaughter happened...and the Goddess of Light vanished. Without the protection of the Goddess, the world itself has begun to die, and the Kingdom of Castamia has struggled to stay on its feet. But during all of this, a young girl washed up on the shore of a small island on the Kingdom's outskirts...
Today, though, is Crescent Isle's annual Goddess Festival, celebrating the Goddess of Light and the six Disciples of Light working alongside her. After the festivities are interrupted by a large-scale Hollow attack, Nate and Sakura, two childhood friends, leave the village and join the Adventurers' Guild, a guild repurposed to hunt Hollows and help restore the Kingdom to its former glory. Thus begins a long journey that will reveal the true state of the Kingdom, the true events of the Great War, and some...undesirable truths about the two worlds.

- Various people bring their problems and requests to the Adventurers' Guild; complete these for various rewards
