Hi there!

I've been away for a while, but I have resumed work on my second game with RPG Maker MV. "Lantern of Worlds - The First Quest"

"Lantern of Worlds - The First Quest"
is an adventure game inspired by West-European fairytales and mythology, and based on older games like Quest for Glory and Eye of the Beholder.

The game tells the story of how a great tournament is announced, in the royal city of Idunia. The winner of the tournament will be named the new Royal Adventurer, hero and protector of the people.

Many villages and towns have send their best and bravest to compete, as it is a great honor for any village to have one of its own as the new Royal Adventurer. And you are one of them, strongest and most powerful of all the young men and women of your village.

But before you are allowed to compete, you must prove yourself worthy, and to do so, you and several others have been given the quest to investigate the forest of Myrr, a dangerous and mysterious place.

  • More then 40 fixed & random story encounters.

  • Full background art and mayor art pieces by Ponylab.

  • Fully voiced dialogues, by talented voice-actors like Tiffany Witcher

  • Music by various talented artists.
As the Lantern of Worlds game series is based largely on text and reading, it is my hope the game series will also aid in the reading and text comprehension of younger players.

In an age where reading is on the decline, I would like Lantern of Worlds to be a bridge between the reading of books and the playing of computer games, and combine the best of both worlds.

Like Albert Einstein said: 'If you want to be your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.'

And that is what our games essentially are, interactive fairy tales!

A demo is now available, and can be found on GameJolt.

And so it was, that on this blessed day, this day of days, from the radiant heavens there did descent a messenger from the gods!
A youth of Herculean body, golden hair and winged sandals, carried down upon a gentle breeze of Elysian winds!

And thus, then, did he speak:
"A new demo is ready, for that great and mighty game, Lantern of Worlds"

"Seek it out, oh ye mortal, seek it within the hallowed domains of Itch.io, and GameJolt!
For he who finds this game, this Grail of Grails, shall know the blessings of the gods for everafter!"

In other words, a new demo is ready for my game Lantern of Worlds :)
It has improved maps, new music and voice-acting and an improved combat system.

Her Majesty the Queen of Bees is here! You can meet her on an enchanted island in the ocean!

Also, the game is progressing nicely, should have a new demo up shortly!

Can´t wait to see the new demo. Your story is interesting and the art stunning. Especially the enemies look great.

Wow, great artwork in this game. The enemy sets look very cool, too. The story premise is not your usual which is a nice change.

All the best with this project.

Some new art for the game!

Please meet Thaleia the Enchantress, charming but deadly!

The game is almost, almost done now. I'll be scouring the internet for playtesters soon :)
If anyone would like to volunteer, please let me know! :)

Lantern of Worlds - The First Quest is ready for testing!

If you would like to test the game, I can send you the latest build. Your name would go in the credits, (if you'd like, of course), you will receive a free copy of the game when it is on Steam, and you will have my sincere thanks!

Best regards,

Fabian

Hi Fabian! If you still need more testers, I'd be willing to test again!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
