Description of the Feature:
  • This feature would basically allow you to have/add more than 20 pages in an event.

Why is this feature good?
This feature is great because of the following:
  • For complex events, it'll be easier for users to create things like, but not limited to:
  • A farming system
  • An event that permanently changes image and content within it based on a variable

Possible issues with this feature?
Issues that might arise from this feature:
  • There should be put in place a limit to how many event pages one can add, as it may cause lag.

Welp, after buying VX Ace I came to realize that it would allow for up to 99 event pages compared to the measly 20 in MV. I wonder why they didn't keep this? :unsure:

I think the reason it wasn't kept in was for mobile support. So adding more would probably mean you wouldn't be able to port your game to phones.

Ah, that makes sense, but is it possible to get more event pages with a plugin at all? :\

Afraid not, as that would require editing the editor. Maybe someday.

PS: Ok, maybe someone could make a plug-in which would link two events together and page 1 of the new event simulates page 21 of the old event, but that's the only way I could see it happening.

Every time a switch or variable is changed, a party member changes, a self switch is changed, or an item/armor/weapon is added/removed from inventory, every event on the map is checked for which page should be active. This means looking at every page (backwards) until it finds a match.

So yes, the more event pages you have, the longer it's going to take to find the correct page, which is going to cause lag. This will be especially apparent towards the beginning of the game, as you normally have the lower numbered pages active at the start and the higher numbered pages active at the end. Considering the importance of first impressions, you could lose yourself some players if the game lags at the beginning.

Rather than ask for more pages per event, I'd be inclined to look for ways to design events better, fit what I need to do within the available number of pages.

You could do that without a plugin - just have the last page of event 1 be "blank" and the first page of event 2 conditioned by the same criteria. Event 1's last page could even be "move event 2 to where I am, then erase myself"

@Shaz Unless the person goes totally crazy with event pages, lags due to event pages shouldn't be an issue. They haven't been even in older RPG makers. But yeah, I agree, it's better to look at how to design events better.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
