I tend to use them for notes to self (but then I don't overload much with plugins anyway).

A button that opens a bigger note area would be so handy.
The current note area is just far too small and really tedious if
you have some code that is really long.

I never use the note box for "notes", only just code for plugins etc.

I use the noteboxes primarily for plugin-related things, but occasionally I also use it for notes to self. Mostly the notes-to-self are for when I have an idea for something (say, a skill) and haven't implemented it yet, so I don't forget what I was thinking.

Do any of you use the "note" area for actual comments/notes about the item? Or do you use it strictly for plugin note tags? I would like to know.

Thanks,
- Liquidize
Don't often use the noteboxes for anything really, but in every project I do use one notebox for all my credits, and for that it would be really nice to have a larger notebox.

Also, if you do implement such a feature, could you make some hotkey to open the notebox for whatever you have selected, or even better, whatever you have your mouse hovered over? Just a little suggestion that would be nice.

I have used it to remind myself of additional work I want to do on the particular item.

Use them for both... Plugins and handy notes.
I use Comments event commands to do the same thing.
Except in Animations, they don't have box, so i store those in common events .... for now :p

Could merge with this?

I was thinking something along the lines of this (for skills at least):
newdbwindow.png

Each of the buttons in the top right would open a window that is similar to what the original template had. The only reason I chose those is because most skills have unique formulas, effects, and messages. You could still copy/paste, but in a new window. As far as weapon types, you can't copy/paste those anyway.

The new "Comments" box would be for the developers notes to self, separate from the notetag field. The new "Note" field would just have a much larger area, and could possibly even be extended to have a pop-out feature that opens an even larger area to view.

Maybe this could be an advanced option in the editor, for people who wish to use the non-standard format. I'm not sure how it could be implemented as such, but there has to be a way.

@Liquidize i actually do use the note box for notes about an item/weapon/armor. Sometimes I want to add little back story to an item or maybe I just want to remind myself what exactly that item does when it isn’t clear in the database.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
