I'm unsure if I'm asking for features outside of MV's capability.

I'm having trouble finding a plugin that would allow me to format larger sprite sheets for use in my game.

Also was looking for a plugin that would allow me to use a large number of footstep sounds, with a randomizer.

For instance if the character was on a metal surface, I would want a number of footstep samples that would play randomly

when the characters foot hits the metal surface.

I imagine the footsteps, would require me to tell MV somehow what kind of material each floor tile is.

Then I would need to tell MV what type of footstep each sound file is.

These are both very important features for me... perhaps I will need to use game maker? I would like to try MV though...

I could settle on just having all floor tiles being the same material in the game since it's a small game.

So just have 3-7 footstep sounds in total to play randomly.

Would save a lot of time.

Does this help?

D:

The "randomizer" is just a variance in the pitch, though.

1) there is no size limit on any sprite in any RPG Maker - that's why you don't find a plugin for that, it's automatically supported.

You only need to obey the sprite structure - 3x4 per single sprite (or on a 4x2 spritesheet 12x8 elements). It doesn't matter if the single element is 48x48 (default), 30x12 or 250x600 pixels as long as all elements have the same size.

2) for more than three animation frames, you need a multi-frame-plugin to change that structure - those exist, but again they're independent of sprite size.

I'll give it a shot, looks like it will at first glance.

Thanks a lot for sharing dude! Why the long face D:

I might need to just simplify my sprite sheet to be 3 frames each direction?

I can work with just a variance in pitch.

I don't need every feature that I want...

I'll look around for a 'multi-frame-plugin '

I think there are plugins that allow for more frames of animation. If not, then yes, you will need to simplify to fit the MV format of 3 frames of animation.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
