> 3 playable characters with different unlockable stories
> Decide whether they should leave or stay in the realm
> Free play where you can test your skills against other characters

We've received several comments and suggestions over the past two months.
It now contains more story and narrative to feel more visual novel-like.

It also contains multiple endings for each playable character. LastOneNoSpoilerCGs.png

The game progression will still be the same, you play and win against the other characters to discover or progress the story.

The demo has been updated with the story of Hans the salaryman, which can be downloaded here:

If you have time in your hand, please try the demo. We're still adjusting the difficulty of the game to help any beginner player enjoy it.

I played the demo and I found how the game works, while I know the
other way when reaching 0 = losing, you need 0 to winning.

but there seems to be a bug/glitch/oversight.

when you talk to "man in suit", it gives it name, but when you play
the game or hear teh rules, it becomes "man in suit" again while it
gave it's name already.

another part is the choices "Try again", "Leave" overlapping the 2nd
line of the text while it should be below it.

it's quite a challenge to get it, specially lucifer with changing the rules,
and more rocks to take.

but I beat the Demo and did the free play to beat all 3 of them.
I believe the full game as more stuff on it.

So I dont know if it is fixed there or not, but really nicely done.

Firstly, thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and got to beat the top dogs (I was struggling to defeat the Lucifer myself if I wasn't lucky).

I played the demo and I found how the game works, while I know the
other way when reaching 0 = losing, you need 0 to winning.
Was the tutorial clear enough? If it isn't, I will change it to make it clearer. Yes, the player needs to get it to 0 so the other character can't take any on their turn.

but there seems to be a bug/glitch/oversight.

when you talk to "man in suit", it gives it name, but when you play
the game or hear teh rules, it becomes "man in suit" again while it
gave it's name already.
I think that's an oversight. I should have given him one more condition to change the name in the textbox after learning it once. Thank you for pointing that out!

another part is the choices "Try again", "Leave" overlapping the 2nd
line of the text while it should be below it.
This one too. There's a different offset for the choice box for different text lines. Must've forgotten to change it to the right one. Thank you for pointing this one too!

Lucifer is supposed to be a challenge. His AI is designed to not do a single mistake. But, hopefully, the difficulty curve is easy enough to grasp.

I wonder, how many times did you take to beat Lucifer?

Also, if you're interested in the game (or maybe our other games), might I interest you in joining our Discord? It's still small at the moment, but every member counts!

once I know how to beat lucifer, probably on the 4th turn and keep winning
after =) like the other once, but you need to go to a certain number in order
to win (best if you go first mostly), but if you think smart, you can best win
when you let him start (depending on the number given).

personally, the gable guy I knew, the one that took the last stone loses.
but winning is quite harder.

so here are my thought.

1) (personal reference), let the player choose who to start, than show the number
on the stone.

2) I didn't fully read teh explaination, but I dont know if 0 was clear to win
the game, if not, see if you can change it.

3) a bigger challenge against lucifer is to have to win once, but if you lose once,
you need to win 2x.

basicly, the more times you lose, the more times you need to win for your freedom.

4) after beating lucifer, you can make a joke out of it. like the Hans want to go home,
and leave the place, so winning the game, Lucifer "you want to leave?", Hans: yes,
so send him outside where the player need to return, and than something like:
Hans: that wasn't what I ment, but going home!

something with a twist, but who can you trust? maybe let him gain proof
after you beat him once, while he was playing around.

but those are idea's, even if I join, I can only do the demo, I love the concept,
and not seen before in a twist.

Even if it's not my main genre, I while it's more point and click, rather than
adventure to walk around.

also try to change the layout of the number choice to be more fitting.
but other than that, it's fun if you want to relax on the free play :)

Lastone: Behind the Choice now has a Steam page! Please follow and wishlist it to be notified when it will be released!

We're still tieing things up for the Steam release, such as improved stories and a better difficulty curve. But, it will be available quite soon.

Also, if you're planning to buy/donate to the itch.io store (https://dragonemperors.itch.io/lastone), you still may do so! Any amount of donation will get you a Steam key after donation, while other gifts depend on the amount of donation. To comply with Steam rules, there will be an adjustment to itch.io's minimum amount of donation after the Steam release. If you're still not sure, you can try the demo first! Don't worry, the demo will still be available after the Steam release.

We also have a Discord server if one wants to talk with fellow RPG enthusiasts! Come join us!

It is important to remember, in a world where everyone quickly resorts to hate, that few people actually deserve your rude thoughts about them. They're just different from you in most cases and aren't malicious.
Life is strange. I am currently in a train-the-trainer course for Fraud Docs and Counterfeiting Techniques. And our assignment last night was to make several counterfeit documents using simple tools like Paint and such. And I actually learned stuff that might be helpful in trying to make/edit things for RM assets. I don't think that is what the course developer had in mind! :)
Onward to more RM game dev glory.... in about 14 minutes. :LZSexcite:
