Hello, I'm making my own game in Rpg maker for a long time, but didn't never pay attention to problem I get when I'm creating some kind of hill layout. The problem is that I don't know how to create 2+ layers map. I'm talking about something like in an attachment. I will be really thankful for some help. :ohappy:

That looks like passability issue. Your tileset is not setup correctly or you modified it. Check if the first tile on the B tab is set to a star.

Your problem is that you have placed a passability override there.

The second layer of a map is simulated by using ceiling tiles from A4, and usually you can't go directly from a regular floor tile to a ceiling tile. To go between you'll need something "to climb up".

Unfortunately the engine designers did not want to waste resources on making a special override for this and decided that every passable B-tile should work as an override.
So basically you would have to make the tree tile at that position impassable to prevent this.

This is a very common issue with every version of RPG Maker from VX onwards.

It's the trunk and shadow of the tree, which are passable, and overriding the passage settings on the cliff edge.

Can you please show a screenshot of the Tileset tab, so we can see that tree that they're walking into?

You could also put a flower or a patch of grass or a rock, or something else that's not passable there, to prevent them stepping up. I think they would have the same issue with the tile below them.

There you have. It's not in english language but most all options are the same so I don't think it might be a problem.

That's interesting - the tile that contains the trunk, that they're walking onto, is set as a star, which means the program should look at the tile underneath - the cliff - to determine the passage setting. It's not, so that makes me think you've also drawn on that spot with another tile - possibly a blank tile that you thought might erase something you put there but didn't want, and that tile has an O passage setting.

The ONLY tile you should use to erase is the top left B tile. Could you please check again to make sure the top left B tile has a star as passage setting, then use that tile to draw over that spot on the map - it will erase the tree trunk tile. Then grab the tree trunk tile and draw it in again. This will remove any "invisible" tiles with O passage setting and make sure it's JUST your tree trunk that's there.

If you get that problem resolved though, you WILL have the same issue on the tile below where they start - because you've drawn with the shadow there, and the shadow has O, they will be able to walk onto the cliff from the tile above or the tile to the right.

The solution is to either not put passable tiles so close to cliff edges, so it doesn't override the cliff's passage settings, or to put another impassable tile there as well to block access.

It is possible that this is a known bug, for which a solution has been found. You can read about it here.
However, even with this bug fix, you still need to follow the advice Shaz gives in the post immediately above this one.

Everything works now! :ohappy: Really thank you guys for help ;)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
