Hey folks, I am going to be taking a break from the forums and stepping down as a moderator for a while - I expect at least a few months, maybe longer.

I have been looking after a sick relative since early February, and as we live so far apart, I am travelling a couple of hours each way every week, spending half my time with them, and half with my family.  My siblings and their families, for the most part, are not stepping up to help, so it's all me, and it's taking its toll.  I am not keeping up with even a small workload, and not spending as much time on the forum as I should be.  This situation is going to continue for quite some time, so I need to take a step back and focus on the things that are more important (family, and keeping a roof over our heads).

I may stop by from time to time due to work (for now, I am still staff and will be working on products and plugins), but I am going to make an effort to not be here too frequently or for a long time.  The commercial area will be looked after.

It's been a joy and a privilege to have been a part of this community since the very beginning - it is not like ANY other RPG Maker forum I have ever seen or heard about before, and I think we should be proud of that - I know I am.

Be kind to the moderating team.  They work extremely hard for the community, most of them on a volunteer basis.  You have no idea how much goes on behind the scenes (even I believe I've still only seen the tip of the iceberg).  If you're about to get angry with them for some reason or accuse them of doing something, you are probably wrong.

Please don't spam in your efforts to outdo my post count while I'm away ;)

Take care, and happy RPG making :)

Oh no! We will miss you, Shaz :)  It's so good that you are looking after your family, but it's important to get enough rest too.

Take care, and hope to see you around now and then!

@Shaz

I wish you the absolute best of luck with your family and your future :). I hope that you are able to control your own urges (and habit since you've been doing it for so long) to take that healthy step back to shift your focus.

Sorry to hear about your relative, I hope everything works out. Best wishes to you and your family, can't really say I know you personally, but thanks for all the hard work you put into this community, same to all the other mods. :)

Thanks a lot for all your hard work, Shaz! Things sound like they've been really tiring and stressful for you. Hope everything will be all right in the end. We'll miss you a lot, and the forums certainly won't be the same without you. Take care of yourself and have enough rest. :)

It's sad to see you go, but we understand where your responsibilities lie. Best wishes to your family member and to you.

I've been going through a similar life situation with my grandma so I know how hard it is. I hope the free time not being in the forums grants you will give you enough breathing space, because it's really important to take some time off and chill in these situations.

I am going to miss how much you spam my notification feed. D:

heh.  If I make 400ish posts per day for the next two months, I can become posting king! keke

...I should just give up trying to catch up to Shaz,  even if he never posted again, I would never surpass such a living legend.

I know how hard it is to take care of an ill relative  (if my brother is anything to go by).  Good luck and hope for the best for you. :)

You will surely be missed here, Shaz.

But since it's only temporary, we can start working on making the biggest welcome back cake ever

lol - my spamming your notification feed is entirely your own fault ... if you weren't stalking following me ...

Also, I'm a girl ;)

Thanks for your kind words, everyone.

Bah Bye! Best of luck with the relative.

Hopefully everything passes over fine and dandy. Anyway it will be good not to overload your work, it can become stressful.

I know how that goes, minus the traveling I have done the same back in college. Take the time you need, better to give up some responsibilities for now than to burn yourself out.

I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
