Leave or not?

All I wanted to do was get some input on a project and make sure stuff made sense, but all I ever got was mods.
Wanted to contribute ideas and spitball concepts for graphics not considered. Usually got mods.
Tried to post stuff. Modded.

I can't even post a poll without approval and figuring out WHERE a thread is supposed to go.​

Just one log in the road after another. For the most part, when I needed graphic work done, I kept my business on DeviantArt.

I am seriously debating leaving these forums indefinitely after all I've gone through. I can't just lurk around anymore and HOPE someone magically talks about the subjects I want to discuss, because they don't have people waiting to pounce when they want to say something.

Meow, I don't know if that is how it is, but if you feel bad about being here, nobody can make you stay. I get the weird feeling sometimes, but I try to power through. I think unless you get banned, or actively inciting negativity, you won't be on the bad or short end of any situations. The blue text isn't really supposed to be like "You've wrecked the atmosphere, stand and deliver" but it comes across that way. You aren't an idiot, and nobody hates you meow. I don't. I actually really like you, and I don't even know who you are meow! That being said, please feel free to come talk about cats and tasty food items on my profile.. if you need help with something and afraid to chat it up in the forums, you can pm me. I might be able to help you. Maybe I can find somebody to help you. Maybe. Also, certain mods seem more 'out to get you" than others, but, they really do a good job of keeping the place from being a toxic waste land of nagginess and bitterness. If you do feel you've been targeted unfairly, I'm sure TouchFuzzy will chat it up with you. Just lay it on him. But be sincere, and respectful always. A handful of treats goes a long way in tasty cat land. Meow.

Honestly, if this board didn't have the mods, this would quickly turn into the (excuse my PG13 language) hell in a hand basket that was Miiverse quicker than the speed of light.

I mean you could leave, there are other dev sites. (Steam has one for rpgmaker that's only loosely moderated. Maybe pay it a visit if you think moderation is a bad thing. It is fun in there sometimes).

Or you could maybe just...read the clearly posted rules before posting? That usually keeps the mods happy and away from your posts, in my experiences anyway.

Moderated more than a Christian minecraft server.
But I can see why sometimes. It's whatever, it shouldn't be that bothersome.
Plenty of people find ways to make discussion.

Blue text is where the mods have had to mod. That might mean moving a post. It's not a big deal.

If you think you're being picked on or the mods are being heavy-handed, contact the admins (as indicated by the forum rules, when you have issues with moderators).

Personally, I find this one of the most pleasant and friendly RPG Maker forums I've ever seen. And a lot of it is because of the moderation.

I'm not sure if you have tried the Steam Forums, but as a long time vet there, I want you to know that having mods here is a good thing compared to what happens there lots. I came over here for the very structure that seems to be getting you down. if you find you are just not getting enough response to your questions/opinion seeks, then use my @IguanaGuy tag to alert me and I can see what I can do. Honestly I find myself being pulled in several directions and don't even get around to responding to lots of good posts and questions here.

i can agree that the blue text i see all the time on peoples posts about "wrong forum, moved to other place, please post in right place" gets on alot of peoples nerves from what ive seen.
but i think thats mainly just because they have so many forum categories that its hard to know where they want u to say what.
it got on my nerves when i 1st started posting things on here too.
and i still think they need to reduce the categories some so its not such a issue.
but there is ALOT of people here n "most" of them helpful and respectful and alot of new posts every day
if the mods wernt around new posts would easyly get lost in the mess so overall im glad they do what they can.

the blue messages could be changed to seem a little less condescending though.
edit: also think it should be manditory to have "primarily uses: ____" filled out.
been several times try to help someone but turns out they use different RPGmaker

It's a damn good thing that this place is heavily moderated or else it would be toxic and out of control like the Steam community forums.
Don't take it too personally, blue text is not a big deal anyway, when directed to someone it's just a friendly reminder wrote by a Mod that tells you to follow the rules, that's all.
It's the red text you should be afraid of, that is a warning.

Read the rules, look around before posting something (to be sure you are not making mistakes) and no blue text will appear.
Ultimately the rules here are no different from the rules on any other community board.

I never got a single blue text message so far and guess what? I never read the rules until not so long ago, and I've been here since July 2013.
Just use a bit of common sense and you'll be fine.

Haha I'll admit I've been a bit intimidated by the modding when I was lurking around here looking for information as well XD I mean, the only sense I've seen double posting being frowned upon before was in the sense of posting two *identical* posts in a row! But I feel the mods here are nice people. I came back after a few years of saying nothing and the first thing I did was change my username, and they were cool with that!

They should try to have it so double posting auto merges. Plenty of forums already have this feature. But maybe the under the hood work to the new forums makes it not so easy.

Usually the people who are mods are mods because they were some of the most helpful and nicest people in the community who had the time and mindset.

When a post is moderated, it isn't to be mean, it is just to keep stuff organized.

That isn't to say that we never have emotions about posts, we're human, but almost every decision beyond just simple corrections are discussed as a group, and we ask each other for advice all the time.

I promise that no one is trying to make anyone's life hard. .
