This is an idea discussion thread about the characters, story/gaming mechanic ideas, and other ideas as well.

Rules:

1. Just do whatever you want. As long as it follows the guidelines of this website.

Anyways, here's what the title of my RPG franchise is.

The Legacy of Doug Title.png
It's basically about a young man by the name of Douglas Ambertree going on all kinds of wacky and weird adventures, but what he is not aware of is how heartless yet beautiful the universe is. The kind of RPG I'm making has a wide variety of genres (Not as in Platformer or whatever. But it's more like Sci-fi, Drama, Comedy, Horror, Romance, and Fantasy.), all rolled into an RPG franchise.

And here's my list of ideas for anyone who is new to this forum.

Oh, and also here's the various mockups I made for my RPG.

Interesting you mind sharing a little for info about the story though?
By the way those are actual screenshots or a rough draft?

Those pictures are rough drafts.

The story of The Legacy of Doug starts on a planet called "Terra", where Douglas Ambertree (The Main Protagonist, btw.) resides. When Doug moves into a city where it settled nearby a forest full of ghosts and monsters called Gheist City, eventually Doug discovers that the organization that controls the government is nothing but a corrupted corporation, and the name of this very corrupt organization is World Rebirth, and once Doug does discover that horrible secret of this organization, he sets out on a journey to find their headquarters. Along his arduous journey, he realizes how beautiful, yet cruel, and morally ambiguous this world can be. The RPG franchise itself takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting, mostly because the year 3060 is when the world almost ended, but humanity survived the impact of Asteroid Hecate, and then the civilizations of humanity started flourishing again, and then there's the year 12020, which is the exact year that Doug himself, started on his journey.

Also, the kind of goal for finishing my RPG is to make sure it almost blurs the line between fantasy and reality, kinda like how it is when you almost made a mistake on a piece of paper by almost completely erasing a certain part of your own drawing.

Btw, here's an idea I have for my RPG, why not have one of the default characters from the RPG maker itself make a cameo appearance (i.e; Harold), and possibly some references to my other pieces of literature, (i.e; Rebellious Battlemages.)

By the way, i've decided that i will try to make the rpg maker version of my game, as well as a godot version of it. 'cause each version of the game is only played via picking the game modes. and there are 7 different game modes, and here they are.

Extra Proactive = 2D Kingdom Hearts Graphics
Proactive = Chrono Trigger Graphics
Active = Tales of Destiny Graphics
Normal = Final Fantasy VI Graphics
Wait = Dragon Warrior VI Graphics
Hesitation = EarthBound Graphics
Apprehension = Earthbound Beginnings Graphics

Sorry if i took too long to say anything here in the forums, it's just that i really wanted my game to be an experience that everyone (except for kids) to enjoy, but to be fair, if y'all want me to, i can make a kid-friendly version too.

Also, i forgot to tell you that i've decided to make the godot version of it to only have the extra proactive, and proactive game modes, and i'm gonna call the godot version of it to be the acidic version, while at the same time i can make both uncensored and censored versions of the acidic version of my rpg, while there's gonna be two other versions of the game but they're both gonna be made on rpg maker mv, also, these two versions are Curdled version as well as Basic Version, and there's also gonna be two different types of each version, which is, you've guessed it, uncensored and censored. The basic version has two different game modes, which is Hesitation, and Apprehension, while the Curdled version has three different game modes, which are your classic Wait, Normal, Active.

Just about finished I reckon.
This could probably be an entire thread, but it’s really interesting how replaying a game several years later can change how you relate to a character. I think Tidus from FFX got such a bad rap. I getchu. Completely different reaction as an adult now.
As you see, I still enjoy writing tutorials. Is there anything specific you want to see? (I know mapping and editing/resource making is usually popular, but those are very broad topics)
Well, I wanted to expand player battlers visually and now have 3 sheets and counting for each of my players party.
1. Regular sheet
2. The character has turned stone sheet.
3. Using potions sheet.

Technically the main hero has 4 since he starts with a wooden sword, and I felt that the battler should reflect that until he gets a metal one.

Right back to the RM game dev grind in about 15 minutes. :LZSexcite:
