SECTION A: SYNOPSIS
Legend of the Otaku is an anime-based ecchi comedy role-playing game. It includes anime-specific character classes (otaku, magical girl, mecha pilot, etc.) and uses cel-shaded anime-style cutscenes, generated primarily through RMMV, Comipo, GIMP, and various other tools. The game is based around a main storyline updated with new chapters monthly, with numerous tangents, side quests, and dungeons so players can focus on the game-play elements they prefer. While the tone of the game is definitely geared toward comedy, there are some dramatic elements as well, touching upon teenage feelings of isolation and bullying, but also celebrating those who fully embrace something they love without shame or regret. For more information, please check out our website (www.legendoftheotaku.com), our Wiki page (https://loto.fandom.com/wiki/Legend_of_the_Otaku_Wiki) or follow the game on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
Overall, this game is a melting pot of every anime genre that has ever existed. Ever want to see futuristic mecha piloted by a magical girl take on a kaiju bound to a monster-trainer's summoning ball, while engaging in a food war with all of the waifus from your favorite harem show? Me too. As a huge anime fan, I designed Legend of the Otaku to give something back to anime fans everywhere. The story unfolds in a rich immersive environment, so feel free to explore, push buttons, open boxes, flush toilets, and discover all of its inside jokes, easter eggs, and other secrets.
DISCLAIMER: Although there is no nudity or sex in the censored/non-Patreon version of the game, there is ecchi comedy sprinkled throughout that is appropriate to the 13+ age group (ex: character accused of peeping on another character, characters collect PVC figures wearing swimsuits, suggestive dialogue, etc.).

- And many, many, MANY more...
SECTION C: STORYLINE/PLOT
Legend of the Otaku is an anime-based role-playing game where you step into the shoes of Tenchi Takahashi, a hardcore anime addict, manga aficionado, and overall otaku-extraordinaire. Tenchi's life of fandom is abruptly interrupted by the sudden appearance of Anju, a mysterious girl from another dimension (aren't they always?). A vicious demonic overlord is conquering Anju's homeland, so her inventor-father sent her through a transdimensional portal with a set of powerful crystals, which are capable of tapping into the substantial energy existing at the crossroads of worlds. The crystals amplify the user's inner strength, turning Tenchi and his friends into the heroes that they always dreamed of being.
SECTION D: SETTING AND/OR WORLD DEVELOPMENT
- Feudal, modern, and futuristic setting, based primarily in modern Japan.
- Dimensional travel is a central theme of the game's main storyline, so you can expect travelling to other worlds (Japanese and Nordic mythology, apocalyptic, ancient China, anthropomorphic animals, etc.)
- Current locations include: high school, onsen, ramen shop, comic book shop, clinic, grocery store, multiple character residences, temple, military base, and much more.
- The game embraces crossover among different genres, so magical characters may find themselves fighting or allying with futuristic characters and vice versa. And yes: there will be elves.
