I've wanted to create some sort of "Lesbians in Space" story for a long time, whether it be a book or a television show or a game. Having bought rpgmakerMV a few weeks back, I'm setting out on it as my second project. This game takes some elements from Firefly, but is not a fangame. It is also not porn. Game Mechanics: Spoiler: spoiler An ATB battle system. Branching plotlines. Two types of attacks - psychic and specials. Characters: Spoiler: spoiler So far, I've been referring to the characters as "Captain, Officer, Recruit (the main character), and Passenger (the love interest). Our antagonist is the Captain of a Rival ship who goes by the name of Mercy. Storyline/Plot: Spoiler: spoiler Our viewpoint character begins the game by joining the crew of a spaceship. The spaceship is transporting a load of boxes to the next planet. Down in the cargo hold, our viewpoint character discovers a girl hiding in a box. The girl is an alien psychic on the run from a slaver who had her in his custody but lost her in the last space-port the ship touched down in. The captain and first officer must decide what to do with the girl. Do they turn her in and reap the reward? Or do they make her a member of the crew? The story has two diverging plotlines, one where the captain decides to turn the girl in but the main character betrays the captain and smuggles her offboard in an escape pod, and one where the captain decides to protect the girl. If the captain decides to protect her, the ship is attacked by Captain Mercy, who was once a member of the crew. She and her two lackeys will board the ship, fight against the crew and kidnap the girl. As a last favor to old friends, she leaves the crew alive and their ship functional. The player convinces the Captain to fly after Mercy, and they follow her to the slaver's planet. The slaver has control over many psychics, human and alien, from various parts of the universe. Some of them are famous people who have disappeared. Mercy and her lackeys fight the crew again. They recover the girl and head out of the facility, only to find the slaver in charge of the operation at the entrance. He offers the crew a quick death if they'll hand over the girl. When they refuse, he fights the crew. When the battle is over, the crew begins trying to connect all the psychics to the families they've been separated from, and the game ends. All through the game, the player romances the psychic. The Captain and the Officer are in a relationship. Mercy is the Officer's ex. Setting and World Development: Spoiler: Spoiler The game is set in our future, in a world where a race of humanoid aliens called the Vrisk coexist with us. Vrisk are green-skinned and pointy-eared, and romance between Humans and Vrisk is not unheard of. Humanity has been living with the Vrisk for long enough that we treat them more as another race of humanity than as a different species.
