Let's Review Games! Community Event
Lovely sprite by Bukarett and Makapri

What is this?
This event is really simple, let's play games! Leave feedback on project threads seen in Project Development Boards and get a badge. The goal of this event is to encourage everyone to play games, read concepts and/or provide feedback to improve our community.

How do I join?

  1. Pick a game in one of these boards. If the game has no comments, the better.
IF there are comments but no constructive feedback, that would be a fantastic choice too. If the game has a demo/download link, at least an hour's worth of gameplay should be played.
  2. Write feedback! List the Cons and Pros that you find in their project. It has to be more than 500 words. Don't try to cheat!
This rule isn't set in stone, in fact there are many ways to write Pros/Cons, e.g. bullet points, so go with your gut feeling. I recommend reading this article for an idea how!
  3. Don't be unnecessarily rude with your feedback.
  4. Post a link to your post here!
  5. You get a
French Toast! We will have a spreadsheet that will keep track of your reviews, so no worries about keeping tabs by yourself.
Prizes?

Prizes? What Prizes?! I haven't heard anything about this! I kid, I kid.

After obtaining enough
French Toasts, you will receive either a badge, a special resource gift or possibly more!

Deadline?

Every end of the week, our lovely reviewers will have their
French Toast counted and they will receive their prizes.

This is an ongoing event until the end of April.

This is a pretty neat idea. A question though. How much of the game do we have to play to be able to give feedback. Do we have to complete the game or say playing for an hour or two is enough if we feel we've got enough to say?

Lol, I will see what I can do! Low priority though, given the other contest and other stuff, but hey - April's a good deadline! :p

An hour minimum would be great! I'll edit the rules now. :)

Yeah it's every end of the week until April. So it means you can get a lot of badges/prizes from today until April haha.

Finally, a chance to get free french toasts! :D

And an excuse to get out of my lazy ass and try that backlog of RM games I have....

So how does it work? Will the reviews be counted on a weekly basis (as in: your score is however many reviews you made that week) or will they be carried over between weeks?

Sounds like I need to hurry up and get my demo released so that others *can* review it now.

It will be counted on a weekly basis but has some carry over elements. Think of it like this,

French Toast x1 = N/A

French Toast x7  = Badge

However, if someone only managed to get 1 French Toast done for that week, it will carry over for next week. That way nobody is left out. It's not a competition after all :D

This makes me want to release a 1 hour demo of my game instead of 2 so i can get it out quicker...

I'll release something by mid-late February

Edit: I'll also participate in this

I also wanted to add, don't worry about necroposting. The Project Development boards is an exception to that rule. :)

I also edited the rules a bit to reflect some possible concern.

You know, I just ate a whole thing of french toast this morning. If I go for anymore and i'll be sick again. :(

This is actually a neat little idea though. It should engage users to participate as a whole community instead of a member alone while opening up reviews for users whose projects deserve some attention but never received any. Given the current time frame we have for it, I can agree that everyone should have some time for this event. :)

Now you tell me. I've been making sure to post a little update once a week just to avoid that problem.

Heey there! For that, just post on the game topic and link it back here. To do that here's how.

TFW: You get a text from someone and a long conversation--but you have no idea who this person is and don't wanna be that guy that asks "Who is this by the way?" I have no clue who this person is... but they seem to know me quite well. :rswt
You know, after all these years of using RM I've never played To The Moon. With being busy with life and then after my mom died I was too emotionally fragile to play something that heavy. Has anyone played the Switch version? Is there any big differences between that and the RM version?
Today I finished my Lets Play. Gonna have the videos scheduled for daily uploads now. Woo I finished something ^^
