Hi all,
Brand new to RPG Maker so I've been reading through the threads n watching tutorial after tutorial to learn as much as I can, n I keep finding great ideas to add to my game. Just learned that you can have maps unlock after reaching a certain level. n I understand how to set it up for one character. Is there a way to make it so that if characters get switched, they will also need to be at required level to access the map? - OR - to have it where only one character in the party needs to be level 5?

Example.
Boomboy needs to be level 5 to go into Town.
BoomGirl is level 5 but she can't go in (when Boomboy's not in party).

Let's say no one wants to play as Boomboy and he never levels up. I want my characters to be able to access the map if any of them reach level 5. Is this even possible?

You would just need to use conditional branches in your transfer. Use the conditional branch to check for the thing you want, if it's there, allow the party to transfer, if not, have a message saying you can't go there or the map is locked or whatever you want it to say.

Can you elaborate? This is what I tried..

*Control Variables: #0001 TownAccessBoomboy = Level of Boomboy
*Control Variables: #0002 TownAccessBoomGirl = Level of BoomGirl
*If : VillageAccessBoomboy = 5
* Transfer Player : Town (x,y)
*
: Else
* If : VillageAccessBoomGirl = 5
* Transfer Player : Town (x,y)
: Else
* Text: Maybe I should come back when I'm stronger.
: End

It would be better if you posted screenshots of the actual event pages. Use alt-printscreen to get the whole event editor window, but not your whole screen.

One thing I notice is that the name of the variables you are checking are not the same as the variables you have set. If you have set different variables to be checked, that is why it won't work.

Got it! In the variable I had the operand game data looking for Boomboy's level, not BoomGirl. Silly mistake on my part. Thanks for your help!!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
