You all think I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I'm not. I've been Playing and Trying RPG Maker games since 2010 under the name 7thlittleleopard on YouTube. Now that there's an official forum for this type of content... well, here I am~
 
Warning: I am a mature adult. I am Australian. I grew up in rural areas with a lot of language that most people don't hear in excess so I swear a lot. If a game is frustrating or unplayable, I will swear a lot. If something surprising or scary happens I will swear. If there's anything at all that annoys me in any way, shape or form... you got it. I will swear. So be warned. I swear. Heavily and often.
 
I just want to make that clear before anyone under 16 decides to watch my videos and gets upset or shocked by the amount of language. They who are fair of ears, stay away. I've been known to get imaginative.
 
Also, I sing. If you don't like singing, my videos aren't for you.
 
On the plus side, I do have an Aussie accent~
 


This topic is one that will contain a bunch of Let's Try and Let's Plays. I will throw up recent game links below and have a list to the different games I've played in this thread. There are many other games that aren't shown in this thread, though, so check out my channel if you want more of my stuff.

Let's Plays are done for three reasons - enjoyment/fun, judging and gifts. I do them with the intent to complete a game as much as I'm able. There have been times when I don't complete a game due to various reasons - either I've lost the save files in a long game, I've played enough to be able to judge the game completely, I've lost interest in the game or there was a game-breaking bug.

Let's Tries are done for two reasons - to provide feedback about a game and to check for bugs. They're more analytical in nature and I do get picky about things like grammar, spelling, mapping and the like. They are usually only very short - a few videos in length - and last as long as I still enjoy the game or feel I've given it a fair shot. If you are watching LTs, keep in mind that for the most part they're for the game creator, not the audience.

They're pretty standard stuff, but they can go on for a while and I tend to just mess about in the engine of choice whilst talking. Watched a couple of your Let's Plays for a few minutes and I like your style.  Personally, I don't care if a person swears a lot (most times it's hilarious anyways), but you seem to enjoy doing this, so it's all good.  Plus, Aussie accents are sexy anyway. xD

Not a problem for sure, I'm following Indrah and her Lps, and she also swears and rants all the time, it's fun. XD

That said, I'm pretty sure even when I'm happy I let curses slip out. Then again... I have seen some of yours, dear. There's a lot of ranting there. ;p

Indrah and Fomar's games are the best, I really recommend playing them.

They have well developed characters, solid gameplay, humour, nice mapping...overall they're awesome.

For the most part I don't rage unless something big or bad happens but I do swear. It's not in anger a lot of the time which is probably why it isn't as amusing - it's just the way I speak. So it's more casual swearing that could fly under the radar due to there being no anger with it. It is there though~ It doesn't usually start up when I first go into a game (I try to give the benefit of the doubt most of the time)

Also, I would make the case that Indry is Libby 2.0, except we're not quite alike.

Well, with Christmas just over I did end up doing a few LPs that I thought I might share.

The first is a three-video LP of A Wizard's Quest, created by arandomgamemaker. (I doubt I fooled any of my Giftee's. I'm pretty sure they knew who their Secret Santa was as soon as my voice popped up. :/ )

My niece and nephew joined me for this one because they were curious and thought it looked fun. Thus, my usual potty-mouth was temporarily disabled. In return, though, you do get to meet Akira and Seth, which I thought was neat. Hope you can hear them well enough. ^.^;

@Glorious Arin: They can be pretty funny. They're also good kids, as far as nieces and nephews go. I just wish I got to see them more often, but when they do visit I'll be sure to snag them in for another video or two. They really enjoyed it and were looking forward to doing more (but then they had to leave.)

Part Two of Town of Illustive



I'm enjoying this game but I have to question some of the logic. For a horror it's standard fare but there's some bits and pieces that need a bit of work when it comes to presenting information. Still, so far so good, bar losing my favourite character. And there's a bit more swearing in it than normal because of certain... parts. :/

Part Two of Guild Raider



I like finding shinies~ And exploration, so I'm enjoying this pretty well. It's interesting too, knowing that it drew some inspiration from one of my own games. Seeing some of the parallels between the two games is very interesting. Also, I came to the realisation that I've actually played this game before and didn't recognise it! XD You might think that's pretty sad, but frankly, I've played so many RM games that I'm surprised I remember as many as I do. The amount definitely reaches far into the hundreds, maybe even over a thousand! So, yeah, it took reaching a certain spot for me to be certain, but I had a nagging feeling I'd played it before. XD Never did finish it initially, though, so it should be interesting to see how the game ends.

I meant to do the second part of Dragon Lancer too, but I got distracted so I'll probably do that one tomorrow some time.

Also, it's commonplace nowadays for people in horror games to be complete fricking idiots. I mean, just look at Corpse Party. "LET'S SPLIT UP, LET'S MAKE OUT SEIKO-CHAN BE MY YURI BEST FRIEND".

Yeah......

Three dollars for 500,000 rupees is a bit generous. I always thought it was two cents.

Part Two




Rubi by Ocean's Dreams




I enjoyed this more the second time around than I did the first. Considering I died a lot the first time... yeah. XD I've always been a fan of Ocean's games - he leans towards cutesy graphics and tactical/adventure systems and somehow it works really well. I'll probably do an LP of Paradise Blue at some point - another of his games, this time with 100% original graphics and a great storyline. As for Rubi, I'd give it about 3 or 4 stars out of five. There were a few little issues - moonwalking Rubi for one, a certain place where the passabilities were a little messed up and some writing errors but all up it was a fun game. I recommend it to all~

Suikoden Another Stories by Rydwha




I went into this game looking forward to playing a neat-looking Suikoden game. I was disappointed. There were a lot of issues in this game that left me puzzled and/or annoyed. The non-canon characterisation, the slow walk/run speed, the terrible slow text speed, the flagrant advertising within the game and the inability to progress with the plot despite talking to all the characters in the inn... it was disappointing. I think, perhaps, the biggest disappointment was that these are all newbie mistakes - in the case of speeds, that is - while the mapping leads one to think that the creator is very experienced. Add in the advertising in-menu, and I was just flabbergasted. It not only broke the fourth wall but was a terrible idea, forcing the player to look at such unnecessary information every time they opened the menu.

Now, don't get me wrong, the game has promise. Fixing the speed issues is easy enough with scripts (and the creator seems to be able to find some decent scripts and even use them quite well, so that shouldn't be an issue) and I'm sure the blockage was a bug - easily fixed. The big issue that needs addressing from the standpoint of someone who knows the series is the character personalities.
