A Game Jam Entry which was done in 2 weeks which is slightly polished for public release.

Accolades: Winner of the Story section of the Studio Blue Game Jam.

"This is the only game we played on our lets play channel, so far, to have made us cry." Steel and Teal from Studio Blue

Control a prisoner by the name of Iliana and the draco lizard Draco as they traverse through a world of the unknown, searching for a way out.

Synopsis:

As the prisoner wakes up to discover a world devoid of common sense, she herself discovered that her memories are taken away by the flowers that are scattered around multiple portals linking to a world of memories and dreams. The prisoner and her partner, the strange dragon who mysteriously appeared before her, must work together in order to find these flowers, discover her hidden memories and find a way to escape from this strange and unknown world.

The truth will remain unlocked should they not work together as one. As working together, they can reach certain specific switches, interact with them to open new platforms. Interacting with specific warp tiles may unlock memories or lock them in order to have both of them pull a heavy load.

If you earn a specific flower containing a memory, it will unlock a new portal. This allows you to discover a new world and gives you a different set of puzzles to solve. Find the hidden memories, gain the flowers and they will allow you to unlock the key that will open the door to the prisoner's freedom.

But will it be all sunshine and rainbows, I wonder?

- Visual Novel image slideshows for specific scenes.
- You can toggle between holding together by pressing 1. In return, your speed in the field will be decreased slightly.

Hello @BerryB ,

I decided to try and review your game.

What did i like ?
  • Beautiful and colorful title screen.
  • The artstyle.
  • Feels nostalgic somehow.
  • I like puzzles so thats a plus.
  • It does have Mouse support and some options.
  • The story is a literal piece of art.
What i didn't like ?
  • A bit too short.
  • Puzzles are too easy.
  • No fullscreen support.
  • The talking animation is a bit choppy.
What did i notice ?
  • :kaoswt2: Only that its very short.
What can be improved ?
  • Not much, maybe adding more puzzles.
My final words.
Honestly, the game is very artistic, and when i started i was impressed.
The story is told with so little words, but its unique.
A very short and easy game, i most likely play this again.

Wow Gallia, your review is very thoughtful, showing out both the positives and the negatives. I'm humbled. Thank you. I'll address some of the negatives and the positives in the game, although some might be more fluff and just thanks, I do want to say something about them regardless.

It does have Mouse support and some options. - Well, technically the mouse option is only usable for movement and is already available on MV, I didn't support the mouse to press the buttons on the left corner to act the same way the keyboard did.

The story is a literal piece of art. - I'm glad. For a 2 week project, I was able to make something at this level, I'd humbly accept it.

The artstyle. - I definitely still have a lot to learn, but I'm happy that you liked it. I try not to use dark outlines for a lot of the characters so I was able to get a lot done for it. It's definitely the highlight of the game and I'm glad it paid off in the end.

A bit too short. - Admittedly, had I put more time into developing this, I could ramp up the level design amount to 7, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to finish up the last puzzle (which had a lot of issues during the first development of the game)'s level design. It ended up cutting down a lot of my time working on it while I had to finish the cutscenes as it was my first priority. Still, it's more an excuse than anything else, I didn't pull a complete all nighter which would have mentally drained me for this project had I worked on it that way. So I had to compromise.

Puzzles are too easy. - Granted, there could have been ways to make the few levels I had more stimulating for the brain. The only reason I didn't make it extremely hard was because I was targeting people who are more unfamiliar with the puzzle genre and will probably take their time. I finished the game in 10-15 minutes because I knew what I was doing, I predicted that the ones playing my game (the judges) will take at least 2 or 3 times the amount it took to finish it, so I take that into consideration, especially when the game jam rules stated that min 30-120 minutes. Again, I could have added more to it, but unfortunately it didn't work out in the end. Again, because of time constraints.

No fullscreen support. - Yeah. That might be a relative enjoyment breaking factor in the current version. I'll see if I can't patch that up in the future when I have the time.

The talking animation is a bit choppy. - I assumed you mean some of the mouth sections in the cutscenes? I guess I wasn't exactly good at expressing the characters enough. Albeit it did it's job, it's just that it might look on the uncanny valley if you're paying attention to them. Well, I guess lessons learned. Hopefully I'll be able to improve on expressions a bit more in the future. That's all I can say on the matter.

Not much, maybe adding more puzzles. - I personally have no intentions on making future levels for this game as the game's story was already told in its relative entirety. (The male character does need more backstory, but I don't have any intentions on fleshing him out for the time being nor will I ever flesh him out..) However, I now have a framework for something in mind for the future, and that I intend on making a different puzzle game with more content than this one and have more of a graphical update in mind. Again, it's under a thought process though, I can't say if it'll happen yet. But if it did, I'll probably show something or announce it at some point in the future.

Honestly, the game is very artistic, and when i started i was impressed.

Once again, I extend my thanks for giving this review and also for taking the time to tell me your thoughts on the game. I have several feedback from other people who played the game already but you keep it simple and concise and I really enjoyed the review.

Thank you. @Gallia

How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
