I actually had a concept for a book of mine which used naturally occurring crystal rings that, when brought together in a group of 100, would fuse into a different color ring (that when crushed, reverted to 100 of the previous tier) that was more expensive. Of course, applying a system like that to RPG Maker would be quite difficult.
