I've posted this on the steam forum as well.

So i've created a custom model using Cubism 3.0, full version. I've saved the model as the old version (.MOC), 2.1 for compatibility. I've renamed all the parameters with underscores so that they work. The model itself imports with no issues.

However, the expression files that I have created do not get imported along with the model. I believe I have followed the information presented in the manual correctly. I'm thinking of the Resource Standards section in particular. I recorded a short video here to demonstrate the difficulty I am experiencing. I have tried a number of permutations on the options available from the Live2D viewer. Help would be appreciated. I imagine that I am missing something very obvious.

Thanks.

Ok. So, i've now closed the program, re-opened it, and it works. Sort of.

The expressions are there now, however none of them are accurate. They are wildly out of position, twisted in a strange way not at all resembling the poses I set them as.

I've attached an image of the transformation of expression that occurs. The left column are the expressions as they appear in the Viewer. The right is in visual novel maker.

Sent. Is the problem reproducible?

I have renamed the model to exclude the number , as I understand that is a problem. Expressions are still borked though.

To be more specific:

A number of parameters are Maxing out when they display in VNM. For example, If I key Angle_Z to display at 0.1 in the Live2D viewer, it will display as 30.0 in VNM. Some sort of scaling issue? This parameter seems to be the worst offender. Others may be affected. The question I am left with is, where is the problem here? With Live2D? With VNM? Some human error on my part?

Are there any known examples of custom models + expressions being imported into VNM? This would help to focus my troubleshooting efforts. I have briefly looked and not found any such examples.

Thanks in advance.

If you used 3 points in cubism 3 its for example 0--10--20 the normal expression is on 10. But when you export to 2.1 it writes that 0 - your default expression. You need manualy to overwrite it.
Sorry for my weird explanation.

So, here is the solution as provided to me, so that anyone else with this issue can avoid it.

After making and exporting expressions from the Live2D 2.1 viewer. Manually open each expression file and substitute in an additional suffix for each parameter. As follows:

This is what parameters will look like:
{"id":"PARAM_ANGLE_Y","val":12.72}

This is how they need to look:
{"id":"PARAM_ANGLE_Y","val":12.72,"calc": "set"}

I would be very interested to know if this even is a problem that other people have encountered, or if it's some dumb thing i've done.

Thanks for your help.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
