Hello...! It's been a while, and I haven't posted any update about LIVENEL in the last 2 months. I've shared some information with friends but I constantly change my mind a lot. xD That being said, I think it's the right time to tell you everything, all about what I've been up to. Especially the features of the upcoming GDWC Edition.

What is LIVENEL ~GDWC Edition~?


I submitted this game to Game Development World Championship 2022, and luckily enough, it has passed the validation and evaluation stage, despite the fact that it is very poorly written. So, the next version, v1.60, will feature the improvement that is needed to get the visibility in that competition.

New Features in GDWC Edition!


FULLY PLAYABLE Chapter 1 - Chapter 4. with 8-10 Hours Gameplay. Added 3 Sub-Chapters including Maegarf's Scenario. You can change ROW / STRATEGY from the TEC Apps. ELMSPHERE SETUP will show 16 ORBS in its SELECTION WINDOW. etc

Improvements in GDWC Edition!

Enemies now drop more offerings. Added more VT Cards to be found in map. Faster EAT AND DRINK activity. Improved the behaviour of some NPCs, they‘ll talk often about current situation. etc

New Sub-Chapters!

There are currently 3 MAIN CHAPTERS in the game. One main chapter plus three sub-chapters will be added to reveal the past. Thus, Maegarf's scenario will be covered in these sub-chapters, from the moment Kingdoms Alliance fell to the time where Maegarf leads the current rebel army. Unlocking these sub-chapters will be pretty straightforward after the main chapter ended.

New Playable Character : MAEGARF THAL!

Maegarf Thal is a character that has appeared in almost all Avelions games; both the main series and spinoffs. He's the anti-hero prodigy who partially responsible for the main conflict in the series as a result of his unparalleled magic prowess. Maegarf is far older than the main casts by several millenniums, portrayed as the shadow leader in Avelions 2 and 4. So, What is Maegarf's role in LIVENEL? You'll find out soon!

New Character Sprites & Battlers!

The side-view battler and spritesheet of several characters have been upgraded with new detail and sharpness. New screenies :

Crimson Valoz Dorms
Crimson Valoz Dorms are single-unit room dormitories immediately north-east of Helvar Valoz,
the second largest Eisenrealm in Diaclou Sky Kingdom. The dorms linked by a special Warp Point
and it is where most “Red” Eisenclad Army officers live. This place lies underneath the clouds at
the western side of the Elvanyr Mountain, near the Genesis River.

Ingram
Ingram was Deflario's main residential district, composed entirely of rocky promontory overlooking the sunset clouds. Bisected by the famous Ryxia Rivers, it contained tall buildings, houses, and many
shops. In the past, Ingram was a stronghold that usually patrolled by the “Golden” Eisenclad Army, before it was ultimately destroyed by the “Silver” Eisenclad Army from Diaclou in the War of Four Great Powers.

City of Ramzazio
The cultural centers of the condemned Ruvengard Crystalys and the seat of the old Diaclou
Kingdom. The city itself has been abandoned by its citizen, thus, making the criminals clustered
together to form a self-contained habitat in Castle Garveil. This city also has a maximum-security
prison for the most dangerous criminals. It is located underwater in the middle of the Astria Lake.

Silovisa
Silovisa is a solitary town in Dorchadaz Crystalys, surrounded by a series of swindling grasslands.
Within these grasslands are various gigantic beasts and predator class specters. The civilians in
this town are permitted to use any kind of wild mantra to protect themself from specter threats.

btw.. there is 2 version? Demo/development and real?

since you added something major (FASTER Opening Scene & Battle Animation.), AFAIK you need to added higher number .. I don't think after more than 2 year, you only have version 1.02?!?

determining the major, minor and sub minor versions is actually debatable
for change log, my suggestion.. on header (ex: GAMEPLAY & NEW FEATURES) the list contain added or remove information (ex: Now the ***; added effect ***; remove ***)

Hello. After re-read this game thread, you're right, it's really confusing.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll update the game version back to its original ASAP.

Also thank you for your suggestion on the changelogs. I should be more careful
and write them precisely in the future. I look forward for your review!

I see the demo on video.. for battle.. tried to give space for both of player.. when monster attack, we can see where the monster targeted. if near seem attack both player on same time

Thanks for the feedback, that's really fast! First things first, that demo
on the video is outdated. I had fixed some issues, created more tutorials
and put various hints on the map, including the pointer to next area.
(You can turn ON/OFF this pointer in v1.72)

- Dark area -> I'm taking your point, I'll fix this and post the result ASAP. Thanks!
- Space between characters -> I'll figure something out, it's a bit complicated since I'm using Character's Row as part of the battle system.
- Previous Changelogs on pastebin -> Cool idea. I'm going to try this.

my laptop got restarted.. and I forgot to save my browser tabs.. the worst part.. my history are a mess..

I think excel in writing is able to making a guide book. And I search on other steam game, there is none having guide on the front page.. The guide is place on the forum by fans ... thats mean, you need to make fanbase on this game.. perhaps some funny comic / koma related to one of character.
Lucain, he is always never showing emotion.. Even in front of cute cat. Thats change when noone see him, she tease the cat LoL
..
Eidart always rival with other two.. from how many score on test, eating contest, and longest pee fountain.. before they do it.. Velia scold them

Dude, that's awesome! You're right, I'm too serious and blatant on some aspects of the game.
Fun banter and comical tease will be great improvements for the game, thanks!

One question, what do you think about the character profile on page one?
Is it too long to read?

Also, about the previous changelogs, I remember that I had put all of them here : Changelogs

- Dark Area -> Done! I even put light effects to make the guide arrow and next area's name
are brighter than before. I'll postpone this small fix for v1.76 or later version.

- Excel in writing is able to making a guide book -> That would help a lot. I hope I can find one.

yes.. is too long. but is already writen.. better fix from next instalment.. actually on AAA game, dev try to tease reader by giving them a bit. But you and other dev here not from AAA company, we use to give all our idea and then forgot how to advertise our work..

Hello! It's already May, the transition season arrives! This month, there will be a special
update that focuses on worldbuilding, immersion and transition of the game lore as well!

This update will establish some game elements which have been changed over
the past two years. This is going to be the second major update related to game-design.
(*The first one was released when I changed the battle system.)

+PART 1+

MAGIC COMBINATION


It's one of the main features in the game. So, I'm going to utilize this and make further
improvements based on elemental force's potentials while keeping them practical and
interesting.

Each elemental force will have 3 unique potentials to be converged with one another.
These attributes are categorized into Type-Counter Potential (TCP), Battle Characteristic
Potential (BCP) and Status Ailments Potential (SAP).

For example :
- Fire has a Ice-Breaking TCP and Flare has a Fast-Casting BCP.
Installing these two elmspheres, you'll get a new mantra that deals fire DMG twice
(Double Attack).

- Fire has a Burn SAP and Water has a Fire-Extinguished TCP.
Installing these two elmspheres, you'll get a new mantra that removes Burn Status.

and so on.

GAME CONCEPT AND KEY NAMES

I wonder how many times I said this. But I really mean it when I said I have an issue with
myself regarding to this matter. I tend to give a weird, complex name to almost everything.
So, it'll be the ultimate effort to purge them all. lol

The game concept also will be changed once more. I'll remove the Mercenary Guilds
from the main story. Thematically, I want this project to have a fresh concept that could
spark new interest.

VISUAL & ARTS

There are some issues that could inconvenience the game development : Convoluted
character profile, inconsistent game HUD and inconsistent map style. I can't promise you
that I'll fix them all, but I will try.

GAMEPLAY & NEW FEATURES

+ Now player will get a NOTIFICATION about Strategy in TEC Apps.
+ Now player will get a tutorial about ELMSPHERE LINK sooner.
+ Now Maegarf can equip SWORD HEARTS and change his battle feats.

+ Now the demi-human race is called HISTORIA (Lore consistency, based
on Avelions 4 - Oracion Memoirs Ending).

+ Added button info for Timed Normal Attack.
+ Added new stocks for all MERCHANTS and VENDING MACHINES.

+ Removed unnecessary game features, e.g. non-guild part time jobs.
jetbike minigame, airship minigame.
+ Removed some treasure chests, balancing the game difficulty.

GAME HUD & GRAPHICS

+ Added new character profile for Lucain and Maegarf.
+ Added some fences to block some areas during Chapter 2 Intermission.
+ Added light effect to some crystals in Vargrad (I accidentally deleted them).
+ Added light effect to some map hints.

+ Changed some icons for both character and enemy's normal attack.
+ Changed some icons for enemy's skills.

FIXES, BUGS & GLITCHES

+ Fixed an issue where Apostle Jhuvia walks randomly during Chapter 2 Intermission.
+ Fixed an issue where Karra keeps calling Lucain after the mission briefing.

+ Fixed the name and description for all armorgears.
+ Fixed the dialogue and added more scenes during Chapter 2 Intermission.

+ Fixed some core mantras for Maegarf, changed its type and description.
+ Fixed the gamepad button/keyboard description in Save & Load Menu.

if you make this game into full but make it into separated part..
perhaps you make part 1 that's only 1/3 part of main story.
then publish it as completed.. then prepare for publish on steam ... I think you got the concept..
sory late response.. My Laptop reinstall with new HDD and I need time to make it like my previous Laptop.. And I have work to do also.
I'm putting in game as my review list..

Yeah, bro. I've also been thinking about this three-parts idea,
it's a realistic goal just like you said. I had posted the concept and
each part's title in the previous post :

LIVENEL: Nocturnal Skyrift ~Full Release Info~

Hi, everyone. It's been a while since the last time I actually posted
a proper, informative blog. I want to inform you with everything that is
going on and is perhaps one of the most important updates for this game.

That being said, I've just replaced the tech-demo, from v1.50 to v1.00.
v1.00 still keeps all improvements and major updates from v1.50, but it has
shorter playtime, approx. 1-2 hours. Previously, it has 5-6 hours playtime,
a tech-demo shouldn't be that long, right?

Also, about the FULL RELEASE of the game, I had said that it would play out
over multiple chapters. Now I can announce that the complete project will be
a three-part series made up of :

LIVENEL: Nocturnal Skyrift
-> Consisting of 3 Chapters, Lucain Erhezen & TEAM RED

LIVENEL: Unsetting Moon
-> Consisting of3 Chapters, Velia Ausrinne & TEAM GREEN

LIVENEL: Infernal Abyss
-> Consisting of 3 Chapters, Maegarf Thal & TEAM PURPLE

Of course, you can still switch and play the other teams to advance
the game progress in each game title. They'll have fewer scenes but your
decisions are the major factor that make up the game's endings.

Thank you! It's been three years since I reworked this title,
it's still far for being called a good game, but I'm glad with how
things progressed. Stay tuned for more exciting announcement
