Is there a way to have a particular location, when it shows up when you enter somewhere, have the name of a party member that the player puts in (e.g. Kenny's House) ?

Why do that? Just right click the name of the map on the left in the Maker, and go to map properties. Display Name (or Display Title) is up at the top of the window.

Yes, but while I have names for the characters already, the player is allowed to change said names, and I wanted the party member's homes to reflect this.

Place your mouse curser over the input window of the show text command, and a hint list will pop up with a dozen special text codes.

One of them is the code to be replaced with the name of the actor with the choosen ID - that way you can have messages with the actor names without ever touching scripts.

I did try that method. I put in \N[1] as the display name, but in playtesting, it turned out the game took it a little too literally.

When I put ' \N[1] 's House' in the 'Display Name' in Map Properties, when I playtest the game, this happens:

(Never mind that it's black, I haven't finished the map yet)

I think he may be referring to the Display Name under Map Properties which may not support the displaying of variables without a script.  Not an actual text message.  But I could be wrong.

I think there is an advanced text message system that allows for the text codes to be used anywhere, not only show text (and that also adds more text codes).

But I don't know which one it was, and there are several ATM-Systems available - you would have to look for yourself on the master script list.

There is.  Dark linked him one in the second post and it's the same one I use.  It's very handy and I love it.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD

Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
