Looking for a battle system

I hope this is in the correct place.....

Hello im working on my first game and I have been looking into diffrent battle systems and playing around with some ideas. What im trying to achive is to have a battle system where my main actor is surrounded by enemies. Effecting attack and Def depending if a enemy is in front or behind and maybe dodge if to the side. I would also like the battle to have a tactical feel and maybe show the attack animations. I have been doing some research but I thought i might ask here since im really new to this. Thank you for any help you guys can provide

I was thinking  of maybe a tactical turn based.

It seems that might be the best way to achieve what im looking for.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
