I know you're thinking "what in the world is that person asking for."  I didn't really know how else to explain it in the title.

The best way I can think of explaining what I'm looking for is explaining the scene I'm trying to do in the game.

I'm using VX Ace by the way.

+++ THE SCENE +++

The main character is at a modern day convention with a female friend who is dressed in a costume.  (Princess Zelda to be exact.)

A random NPC comes up to her and asks to take a picture of her in the costume.

She agrees and the NPC takes the picture.

The NPC tells her that she has a nice Princess Zelda costume.

Near by is a person in a dark knight costumes (or they think it's a costume) over hears this comment, and believes that she really is a princess.

+++  END OF SCENE +++

This is an important set up for when the action starts in the game.  The knight later kidnaps her which starts the adventure in the game.

I'm totally lost on the best way to do this.  I've tried looking for some character sprites of people with cameras, but I haven't been able to find any.  Then there's the flash of the camera itself.  I'm not sure how to pull that off.  I guess I could do a full screen flash, but I rather have something small that's coming from the NPC taking the picture.  I don't know if this is mainly going to be a scripting thing, or I just need to find the right sprites to use.

I would even use a character sprite that's just putting up their hand to make it look like they are raising a camera and then have it to that little "camera flash" effect with sound effect.  I would be okay with that.  I would prefer a character with some sort of camera in hand though.

Any help with this would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

RMMV
For the camera flash, just choose an animation with stars or something like that and use the event commands to play that animation on the NPC-Event.

(the animations in the database aren't only for skills and battlescreens, they can be used on map as well)

A sprite with a camera is more difficult, especially if you're using the default RTP - the sprites are rather small and a camera would be very difficult to even see in that scale. If you're using larger sprites (like the sprites from the HF-Packs or some XP/Mack-Style sprites, such a sprite-variant is possible, but you probably have to request/commission one...

For something quick and easy I went with a full screen flash and played the EQUIP1 sound effect.  I tried using a modified FLASH animation, but didn't like the way it came out.  So I think I'll stick with that for the effect, but would still love to have a character who looks like he (or she) is carrying a camera.  I'm going to change the title of the posting to reflect that.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
