I'm looking for either a script that causes a player to slip (i.e. move one space farther than intended, such as on an ice tile), or some knowledge on how to use Terrain Tags (because I don't get them). I'm pretty sure I can use Terrain Tags to cause the slip movement, but I'm not sure, so if someone can point me in the right direction, that'd be helpful. I've looked and I can't seem to find anything...

Yanfly has made such a script. I don't have the link ready, but it's on the master script list - search there.

To save you from searching I have the script here. It took me forever to find it.

I've moved this thread to RGSS3 Script Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

@Darthvollis, please don't put other people's scripts into your post.  Provide a link to their page where the introduce and talk about it, and where they provide demos and answer questions people have.

Okay, so, I followed the script Marsigne linked to, but I'm not slipping. Do the second coordinates (the ones marked <slippery: 2,3>)have to correspond to something or can they just be left empty? I'm also using an already saved file for this, if that has any effect, but tiles haven't given me a problem with that until now.

Here's an image of my database's tileset with the coding in it: http://i.imgur.com/ARAecMf.png

Try starting a new game and see if it makes a difference.  Put the start location on that map if necessary.

Or it may just be necessary to leave the map and return, so all the tileset flags are re-read.

Nah, loaded a new file, left the map, etc. but the tile still isn't causing the player to slide. To be perfectly honest, my game's pretty much done, but I wanted to see if I could get this to work. The game will work fine without it, but I'd like to see if this works. If not, I'll see what I can do about it later.

I'm REALLY hoping I'm not making a noobish mistake here...

If you're not using 2 and 3 as slippery, then you won't need that second tag.  In fact, that may be overwriting the first tag.  So remove it, just have the <slippery: 1> and see if that makes a difference.

I could be wrong, but I think the problem might because you have tagged auto tiles.  When I have used this script, I used the ice block tile on the top row of A5.

If you don't want to use the ice block, then put an image taken from the auto tile on a B-E tile sheet somewhere and tag it.

Just did a test with the script:

[1] Putting another tag below the 1st will not overwrite it but adds to it.

[2] Autotiles in your snapshot is working correctly.

[3] Old save files will not work, need to start a new game to make the script work.

The script uses mostly new methods except player update and dash. So if you have a script that overwrite player's update/dash, then that is the problem. Move this script below all other custom scripts and see if the problem continues.

Okay, thanks! That might've been what was causing the problem, but I got it to work now!

Thanks for the help guys!

By the way, it did work on a saved file. Didn't have to be a new one.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
