I need some advice or input.

I have this boulder puzzle, where the player needs to push both of these boulders into 1 of 2 spots.
How can I ensure that the player doesn't accidentally push both boulders into the same spot?

Basically how these boulders work, is if either of the boulders touch X 34 or Y 15, they will move forward 1 tile so that they are in the middle of the gap (where the red circles are).

Then they have a hitbox expansion to allow the player to jump over them onto the other piece of land.

I would have asked this on Discord, but for some reason, I can't access it.

if a switch is on (SS A, you can mostly push forward.

you need to set an event on those spots with the conditions that check
the event ID x or event y is in place and remove event X or event Y by than
and flip a SelfSwitch A or B on with the graphic that is placed.

so the other can be pushed over it if needed.

but I (or we ) cannot know what you did or tried or how the event looks like.

Unless you are setting the events to Through ON (which doesn't look necessary from your map), you can't put them in the same spot. One event will not move onto another normally.

Or do you not actually mean "the same spot," you mean any of the tiles in the red circle?

Edit: No, you'd need through to go onto the water tiles, wouldn't you. I mean, the left spot is already taken care of, there's only one spot there. I would trim the upper right area to make a similar bottleneck, so there's only one spot you can push a boulder into.

Aside from that, if the player is determined to do something illogical...you let them. They can always walk out of the map and come back to reset the events.

Okay...so just use a variable.

Once it hits...I don't get how your space names work :stickytongue:
but when it hits the left part, check the variable to be = 1. If no, move the boulder forward and set the variable to 1.

Similarly, when pushed against the top bank, check the variable to be = 2. If no, move the boulder forward and set the variable to 2.

you can check the demo of "Galv_PuzzleFunctions" how its done with
the rock on the position, so you can do the same in your case which is
also pretty much straight forward how to do it (plugin is optional, but it
can make things easier in many ways) specially if you use it more often.

I have invented a new food: soupie!
It is soup-pie! It's what happens when you try to make a pie, and it turns out super gooey and falls apart and you need a spoon to eat it! Soupie! Said like sue-pie. Not soupy - oh just let me eat my sad apple pie :kaothx:
